Re: Message Board (resub!)

hahaha when we walk our dog we actually ask if she would like to go visit the message board! We don't have hydrants around us (there's 1 for the entire street) but there's a nice grassy patch she enjoys talking to her friends on.

Good idea! I put a halftone detail in the shirt comp image, but I'll add another closeup in the comments just in case.

Re: Dog of the Day

I can't tell if this is supposed to be red or our old orange color. Try updating to our new templates and, if it's supposed to be red, use our official red color.

I certainly did not intentionally intend to copy Travis.

I guess it is up to Woot to determine whether Lassie pushing Timmy down the well is a unique enough concept to warrant rejection on those grounds.

It did make me do a double-take when I first saw it, but I don't see a problem here. Michael is a well respected artist that's been here a long time and earned a good reputation. I feel comfortable that he wouldn't purposefully copy a design. I just chalk it up to two artists having the same idea and presenting it in the most logical way. Since similar shirts don't exist, I don't see a problem there. As an aside, it looks much better than mine and solves many of the problems my version had. Nice work.

Nah, they won't. But I gotta be me, and that means designing a shirt I could stand wearing. With that, I am at peace.

QT can't say a thing since every Reservoir Dog poster and box art copy Ringo Lam's "City on Fire" posters and box art. Well, the movie also copies "City on Fire" so...he's not gonna say nuttin' about someone making a derivative work.

I think it's quite creative. Sure they don't like EXACTLY like the original dog, but it makes it more of a challenge. Once I saw the martini and looked at the color of the dog I knew it was Brian and instantly got the idea behind this shirt. It's a great concept. And it shows how the dogs from many shows would be in a dog park!

I hate to tell you, but you have an error in this drawing. True Corgi owners know those bowls in the scale part would be EMPTY!

Very adorable!

That's an interesting precedent to set here. What's to stop people from just going through past derbies and redoing other designs that didn't quite make it? I don't think this guy did anything intentionally, but what about the next guy? Anyone can say they never saw a previous design. Is the bar now set at "it didn't actually print on a shirt before, so regardless of the similarities, it's OK."?
