Love the coloration on this. Not sure I would take it for a shirt, but definitely a wallpaper or poster. Great work, though.

This is actually really cool, but your thumbnail does not do it justice! Shoulda put it in as the boy maybe?
Clear up the lines on the chores as well, as it looks a bit too much like a muddled mess (although I guess this is your intention, understandably so, but i feel it should be a bit more eye-friendly)
Remember these are just personal preferences, so with a pinch of salt take them!
+1

Edit: Just to clarify, i like the background grey squiggles too, tis the lines on the monster cloud i was on about above.

I see what you did there...

Also, whats with the "people who don't do chores" hate? That's odd. If they want to live in a dirty house let them (and don't marry or live with one).

As much as the cutesy animal shirts get repetitive, more artsy shirts like this are the kind I always buy.

Beautiful design, make more like this plox and I will keep voting for and buying them.

I dunno what you posted (it can't be that outrageous or you'd be on probation) but woot mods are pretty touchy in Ramyb entries. When you are cleaning up the flood of non-constructive hate (from both sides) sometimes valid criticism gets axed too.

Personally I don't have the technical issues with this design that I often have with his entries, but a swirly halftone-y breeze is hardly new or special from him or 20 other artists on Woot. One of these prints in a slightly different flavor every few months it seems.

I like it, just wish it wasn't on brown. We had two season-type shirts that were on brown.

Play with some color! How would this look on a light blue (daytime) or if it's night, a grey?

Summery:
Nice, but too close to previous shirts with the brown.

just wanted to say that right now i really wish I was this mouse...we dont have a mop (just a swiffer) doesnt work so well with tile...had to get on hands and knees and scrub the floor like that...lol half tempted to make a shirt out of it...but I already have a second design in the making and a third would just be more than I have time for

Much better than a cat on a Roomba. It is similar to some your past works, but I still love the execution. Nicely done.

I simply asked for some backstory on some of the vitriol that is directed towards certain artists here. Because quite clearly I am missing something. (Certain names seem to pop up a lot, I won't mention them this time.)

How do you imagine depressed people spend their time? I don't presume this shirt is about depression, but people confusing emotional difficulties with laziness really irks my tater.

Re: Interlude

Having said all that above, and what with being done being rational and all, I have to say cat on a roomba is utter sh-it.e.
(i, unlike obviously some, have nothing against the artist. One design is wonderful, imo, one is not. Shrug shoulders. C'est la vie. Walk on.)

Re: Mowing with Style v.2

This rejection was totally weird. As diagrammed, it was exactly within the printable area, unless the print-ready file was dramatically different.

Mind you, without the derby context, I'd only see the playing card back too. You might consider using it as a base in a card-themed derby.

I assume it's the dust cloud you're challenging. It's black and white, with spacing and scatter adjusted at very small pixel sizes using a Wacom tablet. That being said, I understand it's your site and your contest, and so it's your call, and what it appears to be to you is ultimately what matters.

But for future reference, let me ask you this--is it legal to use a soft edge brush like those in Photoshop, or are those gradients?

Ditto. For me the really striking part of the design was the way the yellow leaped out of the monochrome background. It's still lovely, though.

A soft edge brush or anything else that makes more than one color of pixel is a gradient and needs to be converted to half-tones in the print-ready file. If you're using a vector art format, the rules are slightly different, but you still have to show what the half-tones would look like on the main design image.

If the half-tones are very fine, designers will put an actual-size closeup to make the appearance clear. However, be aware that the process doesn't support blocks of color smaller than 20px across very well, or smaller than 5px across at all.

Here's the classic Designing for the Derby thread with a lot more information and links.
