Re: Raking

Aesthetically speaking, I think this is actually my favorite design so far in this derby. Hope it gets into the fog, at least!

Alas, poor shirt.woot. I knew it well...

Boots you never seem to disappoint.

I will be 'disappoint' if this doesn't print though. =p

I really like the idea of this design... but something about that blue on the cranberry hurts my eyes.

I spent about an hour trying so many different color combinations. I wanted to keep the Cranberry tshirt.....any suggestions?

missmelis wrote:So cute and witty! I second zanuhdu's suggestion about glow-in-the-dark ink, though I love how you've made the little ghosties look like they're glowing already!

I'll probably get it either way, if it prints, but I agree that the glow-in-the-dark ink would make it just perfect.

I wish I had taken art classes or something so I could give you some really knowledgeable advice... it could just be me, or my computer settings... hopefully someone else will take a look and comment as well. The light blue looks fine to me, but something about the darker blue against the cranberry... I don't know what it is, and I really wish I could say something more helpful. Maybe something that's a more natural hair color? Blond or brown or something?

Nekkochan wrote:Given that cats are traditionally the ones afraid of the vacuum cleaner, I'm confused as to why we now have two shirts (that I've seen) showing cats chasing dogs with the vacuum. I would think it would be the other way around. Where's the sneaky dog preparing to give the snotty cat a big surprise?

Not that this isn't cute, I'm just wondering.

Really? I had no idea that that was the case. Being allergic to cats, I've only ever had dogs, so I don't have much perspective on this, but I will say this... my dog is absolutely TERRIFIED of the vacuum. He's also terrified of trash bags. My previous dog was afraid of clothes hampers. I'm sensing some kind of theme, here, that I never picked up on before...

I wanted to show a moment of taking a break to appreciate the sights and sounds of nature. This design was very therapeutic for me- I just let my hands take over and design as they pleased. I hope you enjoy the outcome

Re: Bliss

I polled four of my ideas for this derby out to friends and family members - a simple "chose A, B, C or D." Most of them thought it was a psychological test, and initially chose this idea.

After I told them it was for a t-shirt design, most of them changed their idea to a second concept - running away from a living pile of dirty laundry.

I decided to stick with happy, here. If I have time this weekend, maybe I'll get around to the skurry one.

Cheers!
