Seems that lions were, unsurprisingly, quite popular for this derby...

And I just noticed that his mane is made up of sun rays at the top, smoothly transitioned to grass at the bottom. That's pretty intense.

I like the Lion King surveying his kingdom vibe.

True dat... it's one thing to come up with the idea of composing something from individual things, but quite another to actually do it... boss talent. Congrats on the well deserved print!

Obviously we wooters equate the idea of "Safari" with large predatory creatures about to make a kill.

What does this say about our psyche?

I really like the movement and motion in this one, but the asymmetry is throwing me off every time. It's like the lion is leaning to the right or something... might even be an optical illusion. Over all this is very nicely done.

I bought this to impress my new Congo African Grey Parrot, Kimba. He's hard to please but this may bring back subconscious emotions. And maybe he won't bite me next time...

Great job in creating an illusion where both sets of images hold up equally well Helgram. Details like variations for the tree arrangement on each eye keep your eye exploring up close. The way the sunset lights the landscape so naturally and then becomes the forward illumination of the lion's features are fine design touches.

That lion has a pair of lapwings up his nose.

Reminds me of the first Santana album cover.

The visual depth of this is just amazing. It looks like a carved frieze... or perhaps the most detailed, badass doorknocker ever. (Kind of like a fancier version of this.)

I am a loin and this shirt offends me.

although todays and yesterdays shirts have nice designs they both look like posters you'd find in a new age shop...

How is it possible that an absolutely incredible design like this didn't get first place? I'm baffled. This is the most creative shirt I've seen hands-down.

The illusion is pulled off really well.

I get the feeling you drew the elements until they formed the shape of the lion, rather than sketching a lion and then figuring out how to substitute the parts. It creates a less perfect but more natural feel to the moment! Almost as if it could actually happen, just for the briefest instant, and by the time you reached for your camera it would be gone.

Really nice design! Although, I was hoping that BOTH brown tees wouldn't make it into the top three...

Ahhhh I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. Now it's bothering me. =/

My wife just told me that was a lion, I just told her it was Zach Galifianakis. Can someone tell me who is right?
