There are several unrejected entries in this derby that do not fit the theme and are instead "New Uses for already existing items." or "Slogans for already existing everyday items" or "Things using items that already exist that normally wouldn't use them."

I really l like your design. Great characters and use of type. I especially love the font you used for "Fish Sweaters". Nice work.

Are they 20' and 30'(feet) or 20" and 30" (inches) racks?

I really like your composition here Wences. The line work looks a little different than your normal entries. Very nice style.

i like the drawing but i have to agree with the comment.
this is a very old kids toy.

the wording on the shirt is to describe what the new gadget is or what it does.

should of saved it for a different derby.

I gotta say, it was so awesome working with such a great group of Woot artists (and some of the greats that I look up to). Really talented and creative folks. Give them your votes!!

Wrong week to take a long time with the drawing.

Damn that sucks.

My entries never do well, because I'm no artist like the people who are usually up in the fog. It's just fun to doodle in my off time and submit to the derby.

Oh well maybe I'll just hold onto my entry and see if it fits a later theme.

not saying same design, just concept!

That he did - I actually wore ThatRobert's to NYCC.

"This week we want you to get inventive and show us your best invention to make life a little easier."

Now, I'm no English major, but "your" is possessive, and I'm pretty sure this designer did not invent the "two cans attached by string" communication device.

[quote postid="4684940" user="Spiritgreen"]The belt is made of solar cells, see the pattern in the close-up version. I know mankind has made a lot of impractical gadgets, but I'm pretty sure that solar powered night vision doesn't already exist. Especially custom-made for animals that can see in the dark. :^)

What little charge they have will soon be gone. (c'mon, don't make me explain the jokes)

There is nothing on the shirt that indicates these are made for owls. This is just another animals doing people things / using things people use. Which is classic woot, but you didn't invent anything. Only your comments on this thread make the case for it being on theme.

If you let the design stand alone, it does not meet the criteria for being on theme.

Buy it for a present and invite them over for dinner. asking them to please wear the lovely shirt you bought them so you can see it on them.... after they arrive and before they can tell you they are taking it off - press the button!

Or simply tackle, put it on them, and press to insure there are no formal complaints ;-)
