Re: Recipe for the perfect dunk

Thank you all for the awesome constructive tips! I know it's late but I've resubbed with a bunch of text changes and hopefully a less "beer mug" looking coffee mug! Please vote for the new version:

What exactly is here that should make anyone blush?

I like it, although I wouldn't wear it unless you add the apostrope (') between the "E" in bake and the "S"

Re: Galaxy Soup

I was really disappointed to see this slip out of the fog. This was my absolute favorite from the first day! This is a creative, absolutely ORIGINAL idea without using anyone else's (*okay maybe the galaxy's*) art or concept. I really love it.

Also Rasabi, that spiderman picture = +5 awesome points for you*

**note: awesome points do not actually do anything, but hopefully give you a warm feeling in your tummy... or that could be indigestion...

Re: In The Kitchen

Great idea, but Woot has a 6 color Maximum.

Maybe eliminate one of the colors and use the shirt color? Maybe go with the black, siver, green, or cranberry so you can do that. Just a suggestion, but I would start on it now! I see "rejection" in your future.

Love it, though I think the artwork is strong enough that it would work better without the text (no worries about people getting the reference).

cuzwhynot wrote:

And mjc613 you have got to be kidding me! A Pacman shirt took second in last week's derby!

Actually I wasn't. The shirt you are referring to used some Pacman references in the write-up, and it was inspired by Pacman, but the iconic yellow circle with the pie piece cut out is not present. Also the ghosts, while the same colors, are not the same design as those used by Pacman.

As for asking Woot to be more specific about their rules, that is a problem that has been around since the beginning. There used to be a link to a guide put together by some designers of all the rules they learned by trial and error, but I don't have it. All I can say is that if someone pops up and says "Woot will probably reject this", it's worth it to pay attention. It's tough on the new people, but I think everyone has run into this.

Thanks a lot!

Honestly, I was worried about the copyright issues going into this one but I liked the idea and wanted to give it a shot.

Obviously I'm new to this process so I guess this is just the learning curve but it's too bad you have to troll all the rejected shirts just to learn some of the more nebulous rules to follow next time.

That being said look for some original stuff from me next week!

They should come out just fine if this shirt prints. The stitches and other tiny details on my "slow and steady" shirt came out crystal clear, and the fishes are a little bigger than those

Re: In The Kitchen

I'd go with a resub eliminating the cranberry in Mr. Green's tie (as it seems like the color most inconsequential to the greater design), and replace it with the silver or tan colors already used.

Probably a little late for a resub at this point, but good idea!

I really want to make it super efficient and use a single function for cooking and have object overloading, but I thought that would be to confusing for most people... So I made it simple...
