To be honest, Cheese's sales have waning for a while now. It got a slight boost from Triumph, but otherwise, I think many Wooter's are just portal-ed out now.

Ohh! Why didn't you wait on CD until tomorrow after noon? My nephew told me last week that he wants one for Christmas but when I saw it going in and out of the danger zone I decided to wait until Monday after 12 noon to buy. I'll buy it then one way or the other but... every shirt helps.

NARF?!? I think we discussed the most shirts reckoned at once a few weeks ago and Narfcake probably will be able to recall the thread and post a link.

I buy my shirts mostly on the first day, as I did with the first 2 Cell Divisions. The other was a present for a friend who needed something sweet and good during an otherwise lousy week and she was teaching cell division when I got it. I might buy one tomorrow - maybe woot will tease us with something wonderful on CyberMonday

There was some last minute action on CD but nothing so extreme as to raise suspicion - a purchase at 11:59:29 but it was only one shirt. Anyway, it's a moot point because CD is gone... right? It's 12:20, the final bell has rung, it's outa here, correct?

Of the 3 that ramy will have in the top 20 tomorrow the only one that grates on me is the Marsupial; I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I think that shirt is well done and I really like the Cat. Plus I have the Holiday Gift Guide to drool over!! Happy happy Monday!

Given Cheese's performance recently, I feel that would be a Christmas miracle but stranger things have happened. Also, it looks like you're in good shape for a tjost-like 2-3-4 (or maybe 3-4-5) domination of the Reckoning next week thanks to kitty.

As a side diversion, we've gone through whole ballot stuffing accusations before ... and I have to say that Cell Division is solid proof that it's not happening. If it was the case, then it would have placed a lot higher than the 30th place it was in Derby #214. Yet, it still found a lot of buyers in these 11 weeks - enough to outlast all three derby winners and the other editor's choices.

Whether some of you want to admit it or not, Ramy's designs have appeal. It's not for everyone, but no design here ever will be. But the numbers tell it all ... and considering that 1020 first-time Wooters (and counting) bought Schrödinger’s Equation - for a 3rd place winner, that's very remarkable.

Here, here!! On the face of it Ramy's consistent sales week after week do raise suspicions - it just doesn't seem possible when you consider the all the talented shirt.woot artists. And I'm always one for a good conspiracy theory BUT - I just haven't seen it in the past 6 months or so that I've been looking... and with all the math nerds, computer geeks, and Con aficionados that track every detail related to woot shirt sales, SOMEONE would have come up with some evidence if it were true. I get frustrated with Ramy when his stuff is sloppy (disproportionate limbs, shadows in front of a light source, etc) but people like his stuff! Cell Division has sold over 20 copies since noon today - those are people who want the design so much that they are making room in their holiday budgets because they know it's their last chance. The numbers don't lie, Ramy is great at coming up with stuff that sells... and honestly, that's what it's all about, right?

BTW Ramy, since we're getting all warm and fuzzy here, I have to say that you have always impressed me with your polite and professional posts. I've seen some really nasty attacks against you here and in the instances where you responded you have kept your posts to the facts; hell, when someone accused you of stealing his design recently you even complimented him on his talent! I don't know what went down before, but in my book you are a class act. So when I bemoan the sales numbers of Marsupial I hope you don't take it personally... I really mean it as a comment on the mindset of the consumer more than anything. If I remember correctly, you submitted 3 designs to the Australia derby and Marsupial was the only schmaltzy one, but that's what the buyers went for - you're only giving them what they want. (I am sooo glad they wanted the Cat! Congrats on that - an intelligent design that is doing well!!)

Ditto. And this is the aspect where I would love to see much more improvement. Are we expecting perfection? ... no. But we shouldn't come to accept sloppiness or the same-o same-o as "style" either ... and such submissions and the other voters still saying "it's alright" that absolutely frustrates me.

Not everyone will be able to ignore that. But I'm at least seeing the progress, and that I can respect. I'm nowhere close to 100% acceptance, but when the diversity is there, the votes and purchases will be warranted.

(In other words, good work = +1. Average work = 0. Turbunguins = -1).

Oh, I hope I didn't sound like I think everyone is wrong about ramy - I found a lot of stuff on the past "drama" and I'm pretty sure that if I'd been around then I would NEVER get past that. Hell, it surprises me that some of you "old-timers" buy his stuff. AND I kept an eye on the sales of the 2 ramys today and I was all ready to call "foul" on the last second CD purchase, but since it got reckoned it was a moot point and I figured I'd try a little positive reinforcement instead... after all, it IS the holiday season
