I agree, this double take derby might hurt the wallet.
Of the shirts mentioned above, I very much like: HIP CAT UKRAINE IS STRONG - this one I would wear to every boardgame night EPHEMERAL EDIFICE and the unnamed PLATYPUS BORDER shirt (or whatever it's called)

I hear ya. I ended up buying 6 of the 7 editor's choices last time around.
Unless the voting changes dramatically, I'll hold out hope for editors picks. The top 9 are nice, but not what I want.
I forgot to include my (2) double-take entries. Smart Snake Bang-a-roo!
Am I the only Wooter who feels a little disappointed/frustrated that only 8 hours in, the Fog is dominated almost exclusively (save the one Trek reference) by cute, cuddly animals? While I understand that there's time + space for all tastes, a *little* more variety among such a strong field of contenders would have been nice to see.
taternuggets wrote:Yeah, but what can be done?
Eh, wanted to point it out. If any do happen to print (and stay) I'll probably get a copy or two. There's a lot of designs I like in this Double-Take, Woot's gonna get my entire paycheck!
Just tallied up where all my votes have gone ... 3 in the fog, and the other 35 aren't. Artist name breakdown by first initial ... (2) A's (2) B's (4) C's (2) D's (1) E's (2) F's (2) J's (2) K's (2) L's (1) M's (2) N's (2) O's (2) P's (8) R's (2) S's (1) T's (1) W's As usual, some are cute, some are artistic, some serious, some just silly. It's just the way I am.
Where is the Marilyn Monroe Cupcake shirt (Isn't it delicious)? I could swear that was an honorable mention! (although when looking back at the honorable mentions post, I see it's not there, but the internet is a sneaky place) You know the ladies love the cupcake, BRING IT OUT!!! http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=57953

It is indeed there. Perhaps walmazan pulled it...

That's the contenders thread. If you look at the Honorable Mention thread you can see that the cupcake did not get an HM in that derby. Sorry guys.

I'm a snowman sometimes. Edit. The filters never get old. sigh.
Not to steer astray of the DT, but, can the staff tell us at all what general rules will be in place for the next derby? Role playing for everyday life...does that allow pop cult? Are animals ok to use? Text? It would be awesome to know if any of the ideas I have are do-able. ^T^ Thanks!
WAY to much cute junk in the fog and in this double take B^( so sad B^(
Thank you @taternuggets for at least making me believe that I'm not crazy. Honorable, contender, whatever, stink.

Me too. Love the retro style and the cute word references.

Sorry for the delay guys, I was on vacation. For the upcoming derby: Text is allowed, no slogan shirts without a graphic element. Pop culture allowed. Don't worry arty artists, next week is pop-culture and text free.

Sweet, thanks Travis! Hope you had a restful and nice vacation :D.
Too bad pop culture is allowed for this one since the topic itself is firmly planted in a full genre of pop-related culture. It would be more fun to explore that instead of the inevitable shoehorning that will happen with a wide-open theme like this...
Heh, I would love to enter the derby, as I can draw... but I am not clever enough to come up with an amazing idea. If anyone wants to team up on an idea that I can render... is that even allowed? Eh. Let me know.

I am curious about this myself.

certainly is. Have at it.
Wow! I really want Spotless to print!!!
Awesome. Is there a way to edit Post 1 to reflect this? Then people won't continue to ask. Then again, tomorrow there will be a new thread for it, and this'll be redundant.
Is this supposed to be restricted to tabletop RPG's or is any gaming RPG's allowed?
taternuggets wrote:Is this supposed to be restricted to tabletop RPG's or is any gaming RPG's allowed?
Would it be restricted to RPGs only? I'd think LARPers or SCA, or even little girls playing dress-up would qualify as "role-playing". I could be wrong, though. or maybe even: "this time, I'll be the naughty stable-hand"
this was a wonderful (and suspenseful) derby. it's a shame there were so many more great designs than winners. i'll be sitting here, holding my opened wallet, counting the seconds till friday ;)
