You may wish to tread carefully here, as "The Big Two" have been extraordiarily litigious of late. (For example, a creator I know is currently being faced with a lawsuit for using the term 'super heroes' in the title of one of his self-published books.) Marvel has got some deep pockets now that they have Disney money to play with. Whether the idea is covered by parody or not, they seem to have become a lot less shy about taking people to court over perceived infractions.

I have to agree with this. I love angler fish, and I love this drawing and concept SO much, but the rectangle just sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Even if the edges just faded into the shirt more or something, but as it is, the edges seem very harsh to me, almost like he's in a box. If this places, I'd probably still buy it, just because it's just a fantastic idea, but if another version were to be submitted without the rectangle, I would love it even more.
