$12? Now I'm sad. Maybe we should stop with the expanding that's causing smaller margins? Workout clothes, sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, bags??? I just want tee-shirts for $10! Bad Woot!

Honestly, for 12 bucks Woot had better start curating some shirts that don't suck. It's been quite some time since I've seen a Daily that I had to have. An extra 20% makes it even less likely I'll be forking over any cash for them. You've raised the bar but not in a good way.

What about the random woot shirt deal? Is that still going to be $6.66?

Feel pretty bad that most of the comments in this thread are not even about the quality of the shirt itself but the $2 hike. Poor timing, I suppose.

As for the increase, I'll continue purchasing from woot, as long as the shirts are still made in America. Although I'll be without much justification to instantly buy the "on-the-fence" shirts.

I too can't see myself spending 12 dollars on a tee shirt. Ten dollars was a splurge considering at stores my max for a tee shirt is around 7 bucks (Clearance shopping ftw). Who knows though? Maybe I'll be feeling adventurous one day.

Too bad about the price increase. I don't buy that many shirts, but this will most likely put an end to my purchases. $10 was just the right price. Woot really netflixed a great thing that they had going.

Just a periodic FYIzies because I know the west coast is waking up and rolling in (hi!), the price change thread is over here.

So (the moderator said brightly, in an attempt to get things back on track), how 'bout that design?

I'm just hanging out, really.

Weak quality post selection on the home page...a good indication of crusty sales levels.
I feel kinda sorry, in a way, for this poor shirt. It's like the whipping boy for the $12 price change that shirt.woot made. Within a week, and the new derby prints, everyone will forget that they're paying another $2. But today, "dangit, I ain't shelling out a cent for these overprices t-shirts!!"

Finally, a reason to stop filling my closet with T-shirts from woot. I think I have enough Tshirts to last the rest of my life as it is.

Too bad though, my boyfriend just got interested in shirts from woot after I bought him one, but 12$ is a think-twice amount that a broke college student can't afford as easily.

Man, a lot of complaints about the price hike. Can't say I'm thrilled about it myself, but I have to consider that most other shirt sites (that I've been to at least) except Tanga are $15 or $17 plus shipping right off the bat, so it's still the best deal on shirts around.

And $25 for pullover sweatshirts? Most I've seen start at $40 so that's a pretty sweet deal.

The $20 for the long sleeve (my real weakness) shirts is a few bucks more than I really like to spend on them (if it were $15 I'd probably buy 2), I think $17 is probably the sweet spot for those. Still, they're at least selling long sleeve shirts now, so I can't complain too loudly.

The $2 hike isn't going to drive me away, the artists here are too good, the designs too awesome, but it might limit me to 2 instead of 3 unless it's a *truly* awesome design.

You people thrashing woot for using inflation as an excuse to raise prices need to understand the American dollar. Bernanke would have you believe that the dollar is inflating at a not too terrible 2%. Realistic analysts have it at about 9% with a couple venturing as high as 17%.

The dollar is plummeting people and this is Woot's subtle way of telling you to wake up and do something about it.

I am really surprised they didn't raise price on shirts sooner. I've worked for a small business before, and the biggest problem we always faced was whether we passed on the price increase for materials on to our customers, or try to ride the storm, and hope material costs dip a little.

Nothing in this country has been without a price increase over the last year... my $2 taco bell meal deal costs $2.49 now, my Egg McMuffin went from $2.59 to $2.79, "dollar menu" at burger king was renamed "The Value Menu." haven't seen a dozen eggs under $1 in over a year, gas prices haven't had a 2 in front of them in over 2 years. Cost of shipping anything has gone up as well.

So, for woot to increase prices by 20% after being in the game for over 4 years, is pretty impressive. Sure, they'll lose a few people who do more than showboat that they'll never buy a shirt again, but most of that is just people bandwagon raging. Woot isn't a charity, they're a business, and being able to remain profitable is sort of part of being in business. otherwise, you become fond memories like Circuit City or CompUSA.

I'm outraged! This $2 dollar price increase now means that WOOT WAS FLEECING US FOUR YEARS AGO!!one!!1!eleventy!

When first glanced at this shirt, I thought it was another ugly xmas sweater. They should've increased the resolution to give a little better detail on the two ghost busters.

Last month gas was 2.95 for like 5 days in NJ. Its 3.12 now, but jus sayin lol.

Its 2 dollars more.. If I like it ill buy it. Never really been on the edge with a woot shirt before, its either awesome or dumb.

I'll refrain from a gut-reaction ZOMG post of my own, and from a similar gut-reaction uber-witty-zinger at people who didn't refrain from their own gut-reaction responses.

Sad to see $10 go away after so many years, and it is truly an impulse buy threshold... round numbers sell. But hey guys, are we all forgetting that reckoning shirts are still $15? Don't know about most of you, but I've been checking most of my impulse buys for years anyway, but I've bought many shirts off the reckoning. This just makes it less painful to wait, since it's a 25% increase rather than 50%. If the reckoning prices stay for longer, it'll be interesting to see how woot's economics shift.

This is another one of those kinds of shirts too... makes me laugh, not sure if I'd ever wear it, will stare at it for a few weeks on the reckoning if it lasts and probably not (but maybe) eventually buy.

Thanks for the years of $10 woot! It was fun while it lasted.

Makes me think of the days when I played Ghostbusters on the Commodore 64. One of the earliest games that had a "New Game+" where you can carry your cash over from a previously beaten game. There's some start-of-game equipment you can't buy without doing this.

The game was overall pretty neat (for the day). It even had a couple voice clips (rare in that day). When you trap a ghost, your guys yell "GHOSTBUSTERS!" If you fail, you get slimed. "HE SLIMED ME!"

Good times.

So for shirt creators, Do you think you will be given $2.40 instead of $2.00 for each shirt which you sell? Cause it would only be fair. Inflation needs to be thought of when the paycheck comes around.

I hate to sound like old grandpa McNinnymuggins but at 12 bucks, no thanks. 10 bucks with Smartpost was on my budgetary high end for these kinds of shirts. Back to putting out flaming bags of dog poo on my front porch...

Suck it, Trebek.

Count me as one of the ones that they potentially lost, and am not in that category.

I'm sure most of those people like woot, and want woot to be profitable. They just don't want a $12 shirt. It's not personal.

I still like them, and may buy the rare shirt here and there, but probably not like I have up till now.

I'm sorry, that's very odd. Did you send it from the email associated with your account? Sending it from a different email can sometimes cause issues. Did your email(s) have any attachments? Those frequently bounce off woot servers. Did you check you spam folders to see if the responses were winding up in there? Sometimes they do.

Please send a new email to service@woot.com with your order number and description of your issue. Make sure to follow my questioned directions above to increase your likelihood of receiving woot's response. It's also possible staff may see this post and try to contact you through PM, so be alert for that. Still, go with sending an email first. Immediately even, please! When successfully sent, you should receive an automated message from service giving you a case number. That arrives within a couple hours of sending the email. Please keep an eye out for it in your inbox and spam folder(s). It will mean that your email has been received and put into queue for customer service. You should then get a response from a CSR either by the end of the day today or, if you send the email late in the day, tomorrow.

I rose in rainy autumn and walked abroad in a shower of all my days.
