gah! i NEED this shirt for my sister. she loves peacocks. i showed it to her today and had to explain that i couldn't buy it right now because i don't know if it's going to be printed (she didn't know what it meant that the design was in the derby).

let's vote on this one some more, everybody! i'd be in for 2 if we could push it into the top three!

This is a take on a lot of illustrations of nature done by naturalists. Their observations have brought us valuable insight into the different ecosystems that would have been unreachable areas at the time.

Watercoloring was a bit difficult for me since I'm more comfortable with producing straight lines and solid colors

I hope not; the title may be a reference but the design is more universal. Reminded me of Thoreau's "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."

I don't want it to get rejected either. I really like this design! But I think maybe it will be safer with a different title, because the name of the shirt is the direct name of that song - it's a reference.

Looks great! Love the colors, like rainbow vomit, I mean that in the best possible way too (traditionally vomit is not appealing but in this case it looks amazing).

The colors and handling of this image are so delightfully delicate. I agree with Samshirt it has an appealing Miyazaki element to it too. I need to learn how to be a bit more subdued with my color palette like you

Hurray for the Dragons! Are you, like me, born in the year of the dragon? It's awesome to be the only mythological beast on the zodiac. Maybe you could carry this design on into a series with the rest of the zodiac creatures? Could become quite popular

Wow! I love it!!! Although I would say it could go without the skull... or at least make the cross a dark gray instead of black... it looks a little out of place.

This is cute. I like the design. Not a Huge fan of it on this shirt color. Not that its your fault but I am really tired of every cat shirt winning. Yes I do realize that people want them and do buy them. Just my opinion

Thanks for the comments guys, glad you like it. Yea there is definitely a bit of a Myazaki influence, I'm a fan of his work

Hmm.. thanks for the feedback, zwartepaard :-> I was going for contrast with the softness of the watercolor.. but perhaps it was too much?
