Re: 1992 (Asimov)

Excellent.

Asimov's writings span all major categories of the Dewey Decimal Classification except for Philosophy.

I got to speak to the Dr. shortly before his death. An amazing man.

I hope you re-enter this image in a later contest if it doesn't prevail here.

Nice design and all but technically the year of the cartridge would be '76. Sorry- I got bored and looked it up

Re: 1974: It's Alive!

I just noticed the stitches on the Right Mouse Button!

Igor: Dr. Frankenstein...
Dr. F: "Fronkensteen."
Igor: You're putting me on.
Dr. F: No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen."
Igor: Do you also say "Froaderick"?
Dr. F: No... "Frederick."
Igor: Well, why isn't it "Froaderick Fronkensteen"?
Dr. F: It isn't; it's "Frederick Fronkensteen."
Igor: I see.
Dr. F: You must be Igor.
Igor: No, it's pronounced "eye-gor."
Dr. F: But they told me it was "ee-gor."
Igor: Well, they were wrong then, weren't they?

move along

Thanks. I am hopeful in this derby, but it probably won't happen. As this is just my first derby entry, I am ecstatic that I am well within the top 50% of entries. With that said, thanks to you, all that have voted, and all who will vote.

emberdione wrote:Normally I jump all over the "it's too similar" bandwagon, but really, this doesn't count. For 1, it's kind of hard to distinguish a c prompt. For 2, this one is clearly showing the green screen glow. For 3, the size and style of the numbers is much better and works better for the idea of the shirt on this version. Honestly, the idea isn't *that* unique, but it's not a straight straight rip off. And Kevlar's looks way better. I would wear Kevlar's, but not the one you linked, it's just not pretty enough. The green makes all the difference.

I didn't mean to imply the artist was ripping off the design, it is simple idea to come up with... just googling found even a couple of more shirts that look a lot like the two above. I'm sure they were all thought of separately. Woot has a rule that you cannot put up a shirt that is like one that is already for sale, even if you were not aware of it, I thought.

Re: 1981

I have to agree with the critics, it's a really simple idea that's been done plenty before. And I don't like how apparently a green glow behind the text makes it NOT just a text slogan shirt.

I'm old enough to appreciate a good DOS joke, I just wish there was more to it.

"You can't just dress a Minion like Spock, and add a caption that says "Logical Me". There's a prison for people like that. Below my house."
