These are correct. Part of the plan this time around was to have one person do all of the ink work and one person do all of the coloring. We felt this would give the piece more of a unified look and less of a "a bunch of people drew something and we slapped it all together" look.

I think it still looks like a stamp but without the .02 cent text the idea gets lost. I know I am being unrealistic about bringing back the .02 cent stamp but back in my day...

Yes, you have to do halftones, typically they'll reject gradients/transparencies as they're not printable.

Thanks, in theory, I know we can, but I couldn't find a button or instructions, and since I knew immediately that I had screwed up, I figured I would tattle on myself and post a request.

.. But now, I have learned what the little red "x" means (thanks, Mavyn). Hopefully, I will never need it in the future -- but at least, I know I've got the power!
