Just trying out some digital painting techniques. I wanted to give this an Impressionist look & a little texture, not sure how successful I was...

thanks , the only vector here is the boat, and the guy standing on it.Otherwise, i used monoprint textures+photos shot in Avignon and Prague (the castle on the left is a standing Old city Place in Prague).I travel(led) a lot ;-)))

VERY well done! I'm a C&H junkie from the time Watterson's work first appeared as a strip, and this is one of the all-time best. Really, who else would construct the rhyme: "As speedily my end approaches,
I bid a final "buenas noches"? It's, like, art, man!

Seriously, this poem and the accompanying artwork from the first C&H anthology showed what Watterson could do when not on deadline for a daily strip. There are a few artists on this site who, I think, have the same potential. I'd put Apelad in that small group for his 'Laugh-out-loud Cats' strip alone.

Thanks for finding this poem and introducing it to others, for working a great shirt design from it, and for reminding me that it's time to re-read the 'Complete C&H'.

-eautiful work. A much-needed and most refreshing change from the standard derby entries. I'd love to see this in the fog and, if not, for it to print from another site. Both of my daughters are grown now, but I'd get them each one as a reminder of their youths, when Mom & Ol' Daddy-O used to sit and read with them.

Then I'd guilt them out for not calling often enough.

Staff, (or Ramyb, if you'd care to answer), I'd also like to know what (genuine) poem this shirt represents. If it's from the Willie Wonka song, it should be disqualified. That song was written specifically for the movie. Despite what some misinformed web sites may say, Roald Dahl did not write it, and it wasn't in his books. It was never published as poetry. There is poetry, and there are song lyrics, and while the two are intertwined, they are not the same.
