Re: the human tear
This is pretty cool. Really creative and I love the coloring.
Re: Yin-Yang (re-sub)
*sigh* I will come up with something more non-specific tonight. This seems really stupid, when y'all ran a shirt for months with am obvious DeLorean on it...
Re: Mort-vivant
Hahaha, silly me, my comment pre-derby was just me misreading the derby description about spring... None the less, glad you found a name! It looks great.
Re: Cat Nouveau
Another lucky black cat! ^_^ yay!
Great design, Diana! :3
Sinister AND adorable :D
Simple and very effective.
Nice serene design in neutral colors. I like it!
Re: Robo Nouveau
I saw the Ironman design too... and I attempted to draw a robot... Good thing I scratched it because it wasn't going to be as cool as yours...

shikausstan wrote:I had a thought like that when the theme was announced, "So this is like a Stained Glass derby..." Looks good!
I love stained glass:D Thanks shikausstan!
Re: Can-Can
Check out those cans!
So, if a lady wore this, she might have can-canning cans on her cans? Oh, Wences, you sly dog. 8D
Re: Perils of Space
Yeah! So fun.
Wish this had been available for St Pat's. This is very eye catching thanks to your shading.
Re: Papilio Nouveau
The design is gorgeous, but for some reason I feel like it gets overwhelmed by the light silver (?) of the shirt. Would love to see it on a darker color (asphalt or brown, perhaps)
Re: Spring Window
This reminds me of Tiffany stained glass - stunning!

The difference there is that DMC is no longer a company and can't sue Woot! for unauthorized images of their car. Plus, I gather that VW is stricter about this than other manufacturers (maybe just with regards to the beetle, I'm not sure).
Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURVVV...did I mention how much I LOVE this design? Because I do. It's awesome. And I will definitely be buying it *when* it wins. Enthusiastically GMV ;)
I agree with wanting to see this on a darker color, but I'm in love with the design. Really beautiful work!
What a unusual and cute spin on the Art Nouveau style!
Thanks everybody!
Re: Don't trust appearances
Awesome vintage coloring. This would make a great shirt.
Re: Monster Nouveau
This is So Cool!
Re: Fly me to the Moon
This looks great on the shirt comp. Nice job.
HA! Love it. Great twist on this weeks theme.
Re: Yggdrasil Tree
i would love this and buy this if it were on asphalt!!!!
Great character and wonderful color choices!

Re: In Darkness
Hey guys I left my apartment for a while and came back to find myself completely unsatisfied with the outcome of the previous version of this. I decided to completely change the colors, shading, and style- hope you still like how it turned out. I'm a lot happier with it now and prefer the value balance on the shirt this way- thanks for looking
This is so stylish and wearable. :D Good work.
very clever, how is this not pop-culture?
in for two if this goes. one for me, one of ChronoSquall Jr.
Speak "Friend", and enter.
Re: Dogwood Nouveau
It's Awesome!!! love the colers and the flowers.
Re: Yin-Yang (Resub 2)
Let's try this again (again). Many many thanks to my graphics design friend who stepped in for me. I gave him images from three different classic autos from three different companies who have not been in business since the 60's or earlier.
I think I like this one better than the VW Bug one that got rejected.

There's a discussion in the derby topic thread about that. It's explained pretty well.
This isn't Art Nouveau by any stretch of the imagination. This is just another insipid Kawaii riff with some fringe behind it. It totally escapes me how designs like this one are always doing well. My wife has purchased over 40 Woot shirts, and I was going through them the other day: only 3 were derby shirts (two RamyB's and one Spiritgreen), and the rest were dailies (and not a one by Walmazan). When I see designs like this one doing well, it completely explains why we never buy derby shirts.
Wow, this is gorgeous. Excellent work!
awesome coloring, nblottie! I need to learn to do this.
