so I am looking at live traps....need to catch a feral cat and decided I am gonna buy my own trap. can't decide if I want the 30" or the 36" long trap. (I know, I know.....you'd say just shoot it and be done with it lol)

What are the pluses/minuses of either?

only diff is overall length. Am thinking the 30" is prob better....easier to carry when there's a crazy cat inside it. That extra length on the 36" just gives them more room to run back and forth. Difference in price is negligible.....three bucks.

Mrs. Ice and I took her father and mother on a ride on the local commuter train then out for lunch. It wore me out but they really enjoyed it so it made it worth while. Had a crazy dude sit across from us on the return trip, insisted on talking to us all the way. I'm a crazy person magnet.I'm not sure what that says about me.

Sounds like fun.

Kept granddaughters #3 and #4 while granddaughter #1 graduated from college this afternoon. Watched the graduation online. Then met them for dinner. After, kept the kids again while they went out and partied. Picked them up about a half hour ago. The kids were not happy that they were so late.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Evening all. Son & I pretty much slept the day away. We were supposed to go to my great-nephews first birthday party this morning but we would have left the house about 45 minutes after the news. Neither of us felt up to it so we bowed out.

Good morning everybody! Ice, how wonderful that you could get M and FIL out for lunch! Sounds great. TT, hugs. Early church for us. I don't know what after that. Hubby will probably want to go to the local flea market. I'll buy veggies. Might give the big lab another bath. When we went back to NC, we found daughter had new kittens with fleas. The lab came back to the beach with fleas. I don't see how they can survive all the flea treatment!

Good morning! Took the dogs for a long walk in the forest and then they swam in the lake. Well Stanley, the older one swam anyway. Bella is still a little unsure about it. I was throwing a stick for Stanley and he swam out to get it. He looked like he was so happy doing what he was born to do, swimming to retrieve things. Now off to have pizza with the stepson, his wife and our grand kid.

My dogs like me, that is important.

Hi, we use Advantix, made by Bayer, I am not sure if they call it that in the US. We put it on the dogs once in the spring and they stay tick and flea free all the time. We have a real tick problem here, I had one on ME last year! It was on my lower back so I didn't notice it for a while. I went to the doctor and got antibiotics and no Lymes fortunately.

I'm not sure if that is the one, but one of the dog flea and tick is toxic to cats. You even have to make sure the cat stays away from the dog for a few hours after putting it on the dog.

It has an X in the name.

My cat vet gave the cat advantage multi for cats.
There are others. Put it on their necks, where they can't lick it off, once a month.

Really? You have a once a season one? We have once a month.

Advantix does have something in it that is toxic to cats if they ingest it. I use it on my dogs and just keep them away from the cats until it dries. It is labelled to use every 30 days. I admit that I do not apply it that often, but I do apply it more than once per season. Avantage Multi is Advantage (which only kills fleas) with a broad-spectrum dewormer in it, it also helps treat ear mites. It does not, however, offer any tick protection.

Yeah, I just read the box and it says 30 days for ticks, 60 days for fleas. We have been using it for 3 years and put it on in late spring and don't have any problems all summer. I haven't ever seen a flea here although I am sure we have them but it is tick heaven. Our dogs and cats get along but there is no oral involvement so that's not a problem. (Waiting for no 1's take on that last sentence.)

Oh, good. Lynnie was who told me about it.
I had a box for if we were going someplace with extra ticks. Lynnie said it was the best one.
I use the front line and I think there is one for cats too.

I put it on Scratchy this year. It was suppose to be a banner year for ticks and fleas. Dr said if cats hang out in windows on the ground floor, with shrubs outside, they can get fleas.
His actually expired in april. Vet said it didn't matter. I figure I'll use it until oct.

Hey Lynn, Think the stuff is ok for an extra 6 months?

Indoor cat. I don't think the ticks would go through the screen.
Maybe they would, but the lawn is short and we only have cats, squirrels, bunnies and an occasional raccoon and opossum.
Honestly, if you don't have a security light that comes on when something goes into the yard, or a dog to bark...you wouldn't know about the raccoons and opossums.

I would like to know where the raccoons live. They are FAT. Can't see them getting into the sewers from the curb.

I should be dressed by now. I got up on time.

Question of the day....Should we put on long pants and bug spray and go back to the bird sanctuary we found yesterday?

Wish is was open more than two half days a week.
At least it is the hours I go out with the dog.
