Aww, his butt's on fire, but does he complain? Well, not yet, but we'll see what happens if he chars his marshmallows.

Way to go Ochopika! Nice to see this up and it looks clean on the new site.

Right when he thinks he'll enjoy a nicely toasted marshmallow, he'll burst into flames and the marshmallow will drop into the ashes.

Best. Write-up. Ever.

New site seems pretty sweet so far! Full support, woot!

I worry that the clever write-ups might be missed by people who are just likely to hit the "I want one" button. That said, this isn't nearly as awful as a site redesign as I thought it would be.

I guess I need to poke around the new digs a bit more. Pardon me if there is some bruising as I poke through the new stuff.

Am I the only one that finds the new site too cluttered? I find myself looking for a "hide" button to get rid of the clutter.

Hm, that write-up. Feeling a bit passive aggressive today, Woot?

Yeah, I'm thinking that after I give it a go myself, I'll look into their handy-dandy "How to navigate the new look" stuff they have over on Facebook or linked through facebook or something like that.

I'm partially wondering if the cluttered feeling that we are getting is from the use of white background. The previous design had dark backgrounds, so our eyes were drawn to various items on the screen naturally. I think that because there feels like a diminished "Pop" to the overall look, everything seems to jump out at once.

Thoughts? Am I too off base with this?

Alright woot, you screwed up. The first mistake you made was making the site wayyy too busy. The second was making it harder to find things. The third was wasting my time. I dare say that Woot will no longer be a part of my life. Unless of course they keep the $5.00 shipping for all purchases into play.

Usability experts typically recommend light type on a dark screen. I can't fathom why woot would move away from best-practices in that regard.

However, Ochopika did not make the same mistake. Beautiful shirt; very appropriate for the relaunch.

ETA: Truncating the write-ups so one needs to click "read more" from a shirt's homepage? I usually don't bother reading them anyway; now I really won't ever read them!

Dude, it's extremely cluttered... which everyone in web design knows is a NO NO... say that three times fast. Your web design team really should have done their homework.

You might be onto something with the color scheme. I have ADD and it feels like I'm being bombarded with too much stuff and I can't focus on any of it. I expect to get used to it soon enough, though.

I did notice that they managed to bury the size chart even further, now, requiring 2 clicks now, instead of a scroll and a click.

However, it is a very nice shirt to welcome us to the new page!

ETA: This page is what the shirt.woot front page should look like.

Hate to put this here, but not sure where else to ask this right now.

Where is the discussion link for the side sale, or will there be one?

bluejester

quality posts: 530 Private Messages bluejester

The more I look, the more I think that if the colors were inverted on the main page (at least of shirt.woot) that things would seem less cluttered and distracting.

There are some really clever things that have been added, but it is so easy to miss them on a white background.

There aren't threads for the side sales. That would be good feedback though. There's a BETA FEEDBACK button at the top of each page. Please feel free to make use of it! They'll be reading all feedback.

There were for each side sale until now. Not sure why they would do away with it. And, yes, I'll add that to the Beta Feedback.

ETA: It looks like there are several shirts on AA in the side sale right now, but I'm wondering if the size charts are correct. One has a very old AA size chart from early shirt.woot days.

Discussion thread for "King and Queen of the Grill" side sale now available. And since wootbot didn't show up for work, I get to change the name of the side-sale to be less sexist.

(We did this once for the Reckoning when wootbot didn't show up and it worked out fine once wootbot finally noticed.)

We have always had a thread for the side sale, just not for the individual items within the side sale. For example: http://shirt.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5004488

I do also wish the Around the World side sale was still around, I wanted to order 2 copies of TGentry's "1985."

As far as the site goes, I left feedback on Woot's main site thread, but it seems to be a little different here on Shirt.

No more reckoning preview on the main page, so when a first timer visit's the page, you think the daily shirt is the only one for sale.

A little busy otherwise, but still navigable.

I love the new design of the site; it feels fresh like I'm at the shore and staring out the beach-side bungalow window with the sea breeze billowing in and the week ahead holds great promise and treasures abound...

I never thought of what it would be like to live as a Firebird. Savings on your heating and electric bill. Apparently it's also a tastey life having fire on hand at all times.

I miss the silly comments and storys that where display with shirts on the Perfect!, with out havign to click on the read more, in the old site design. Even if I didn't want to read it, the stories had a habbit of grabbing my attention, some tiem tipping the balence into must buy. Please give them back, it added a personal touch to the site. Now it's feeling more corperate like ickmart. Part of Woots attraction was the eccentric glow from the working minds of crazy artist.

The write-ups are still there. They are teased to the right of the main picture. Click on the title or 'read more' to go to the next page to read the rest.
