Ummmm I may be blind but in the remodel it looks like you guys left out a stat that MANY people, ESPECIALLY artists like to have on hand for reference. I'm talking about shirt sales for each desin. The amount of transparency (at least more then most corporate sites) is one of the things that turned me onto to Woot in the first place and has me coming back here more still then any other daily site I visit. Please Woot don't loose one of the things that made me Love you.

I agree. I could possibly see them removing it as a way to make it harder to game the reckoning, but having that information was more than worth it. At this rate Narfcake is going to have to find another hobby.

I'd like to second tjost's plea to have the sales figures listed again. Transparency has been awfully important for this community.

I'd expect a lot of tinkering and ironing-out of wrinkles in the next few weeks. To my knowledge there were no plans to do away w/ sales totals, but I'll make a point to look into it on Tuesday.

Thanks Travis. I'm sure many will be happy to hear that. Though Narfs numbers are gonna get seriously whacked, running averages and all. Still I can sleep easy now

Thanks, tgentry; I think I can safely speak for several of us when I say that we appreciate it and we'll try to hold off on panic until Tuesday.

It was shaping up to be a competitive Reckoning, however, with Nevermore in danger of fleeing the coop, and I can't be the only one concerned about the sudden shift in the Reckoning rankings at such a critical moment.

This is troubling. I have no idea how my shirt is currently performing. I have a feeling this forum post is going to get flooded with artist replies soon.

Whichever woot staffer is staffing the woot facebook page mentioned that service is staffed 24 hours tonight if something is really wrong. If an artist has lost access to their artist page or your shirt is unavailable for purchase, it might be worth an email to service. At this point, it actually looks like comments on the facebook page are receiving prompt responses from woot, so that might be the most efficient route to an answer with the Reckoning in eight hours. (FWIW, I can't explain the current Reckoning standings and I tried several manipulations of Narf's formula, so I have no idea whether the standings are accurate or what they're based on. In other words, it might be worth making some noise over the next eight hours.)

To reiterate TGentry's post above, we will be returning the sales stats to their rightful place in the coming hours/days. As everyone can imagine, there are a number of competing projects at the moment, but transparency is critical.

Thank you so much for looking into this promptly and for notifying the community so quickly! Y'all have been through a lot in the past 24 hours, I suspect, and it may only have gotten crazier as the site has gone live. With the Reckoning in eight hours, however, we're looking forward to seeing the sales stats back soon!

How do I locate my artist's page? I was never informed about one. If you're referring to my actual shirt sale page (http://shirt.woot.com/offers/nightmeow-on-elm-street), the sales numbers are missing from there.

The first day you print woot sends a congratulatory e-mail which includes a direct link to the stat tracking page for your shirt. It's only good for the first 24hrs and stops keeping a total beyond day one. After that artists have to get their numbers the same way as everyone else.

So, did you change the Reckoning formula as well? At 12:30 this morning, it sure wasn't the same as 11:30 Saturday night. Kind of hard to see how that happened when no shirts were being sold.

If you changed the formula, fine. But doing so mid-week is pretty low.

Actually it still keeps track of total volume sold with the added benefit of what the first day only sales were. I just hardly ever check them, because it requires sifting through my email to get the link.

Would shirt sales on Woot @ Amazon affect the reckoning?

Thanks for clarifying tjost. It's been a while since I received such an e-mail I and couldn't find one when I went to check.

That page shows incorrect sales totals for me, but it seems like totals are off everywhere and Woot seems to be aware of it. I hope everything gets straightened out soon... Especially the issues with the Reckoning where some shirts (including mine) weren't available for purchase while others were.

game the reckoning? I thought the only way to do that was sales, which is the bottom line after all. I don't think wooters are asking too much for the numbers, as this 'gaming' you speak of could only increase sales, for the benefit of all, especially woot.

All of that.

If they don't 'fix' it, it's another org like Trump, or Idol.
We used to believe in secret ballots and sealed envelopes, in 1967. Somewhere along the way, we became.. skeptics. At least I have to the extent that even sales could be fudged, but then they would have to pay the artist and that seems silly.

It is. If I have the numbers, I know my shirt is 3 shirts behind that shirt. So that means if I buy 3 shirts I stay, he goes. However, if the numbers show I'm 5 shirts behind, I may not want to do that.

If I don't have ANY numbers, I either have to create hundreds of accounts, and keep buying 1 shirt per account until I break that, or randomly guess and buy, and hope I don't overshoot and cost myself the extra shirt.

But in the YEAR Narfcake ran numbers, I don't think there was more than 2 calls of "game", so it may never have been that common to begin with. Variable scale for new shirts and non-RealTime_DSR account for most of the wonky late week movement we see.
