I got my overnighted copy of Iron and Gold, and I am pretty unhappy with it. Stark and Baratheon are blurry, Stark is much worse, the other two are nice and sharp. Unfortunately my Iphone can't get a good picture of it. 8(

Mine is the same way. I sent an email to customer service to see what they would say about it =(

Probably a misprint, Woot is pretty stellar about replacing those for you if you provide pix I hear.

Well, since I sent a message about it and got no reply, I might have to bust out my nice camera and try contacting them again. 8(

Check your junk mail. Woot tends to get caught in the Spam filters a lot.

If you didn't even get an automated reply, then they either didn't receive it, or their response got trapped in spam. So if it's not in spam, send again! Also, they always prefer pictures.

Cards on table,I bought 2 Glow in the Dark Carrot shirts - K6 and M3XL. K6 was perfect, M3XL didn't have glow ink on 70% of the design. It looks AWESOME until the lights go out.

I sent a message, they had a new one to me in 4 days. Exact same issue. *head desk* They refunded the cost, which was just as good because I feel bad asking for shirt after shirt until I get one that glows.

I got a really quick response, and they asked for a picture, which I just sent over. I'm sure they will do the same in your case

ETA: I sent a picture, they emailed back that they will be sending me a replacement. Super happy that they were so awesome about it

As mentioned above, be sure to let our awesome CS team know of any issues. It won't be the first time the help us through some production issues. In the meantime, I'll be sure to follow up with production to make sure it was an isolated issue.

Hey guys, I checked our sample and I don't think it had any registration issues. There's some fine halftoning that has an irregular sort of look compared to our normal halftones due to the distressed texture involved. It may be an isolated issue, but you're welcome to send along the picture you took to me as well: tgentry@woot.com

tgentry (or anyone else who knows): is there a one sentence explanation of what "registration" means in the context of printing shirts? It matters not at all to me except that I've learned a fair amount about shirt-printing from hanging around woot and I'm curious.

When I ordered my first shirt from woot in December 2010, I assumed that someone looked at orders every few days, decided they needed 1 WS, 2 WM, 10 MM, and 3 MXL of Artichokey, and went over to a machine and printed just those shirts, no standing inventory. Yup, I've learned a lot about shirt printing (and the business of selling shirts) in the past 18 months!

"Registration" just means lining everything up so all the colors print in the right place.

That's the tl;dr version

The other bit you mentioned has more to do with production, and it varies from company to company. Some places do just that, print what was ordered. Woot prints predictively based on either advanced statistical analysis, or casting bones, whichever works best.

It's also the "perfect for neuro's knowledge level" version: thank you!

Yeah, if you've ever seen anything like this:
or THIS

Those are registration marks. Best place to find them is on Cardboard boxes on the flaps.

When I was helping my brother run a printshop out of his garage that is actually how we did it. The two reasons woot doesn't do this are likely 1) woot runs VOLUME. A big order for us was 100 shirts, a slow day for woot is 1,000. 2) Cleanup between designs is more time consuming that the actual printing most of the time.
