"Starfish" is a misnomer; they're actually referred to as "sea stars," since they're echinoderms...not...chordates...(ie: not fish). BUT I still get the pun! haha..ha

Is that bucket full of star chum?

The pattern of the star field flows so nicely down the front, I feel like I am looking at liquid space.

Last time I saw liquid space was back in the 60's.

1st Birthday of Celebrations finally! Happy 10th Woot!

Did he have to get his license from the Fish and Game Commission....or from NASA?

May the Crap be with you all!!!

For some reason there is something about this shirt that makes me feel even less significant than that we are very small video. I think it's the fact that it's a spaceman just plucking stars from space like they're nothing, making me feel even smaller than before.

I don't want to begin to think about the ramifications of moving stars so carelessly... that would just fry my brain.

I know it's early, but I smell a sellout. If it happens, I CALLED IT!

I stand by my statement now that we won't see a Anvil blank sell out. I'm gonna call this one a 1900 shirts, before the 0010 halfing of the sales.

Really? I'm surprised; that seems high to me. 1900 would be the highest first day sales* for the third-place Derby shirt since Lucky Pig (04/01/2012).

Woah. I kept going back from Lucky Pig, looking for the best comparison to "Star Fishing." Every 3rd-place Derby shirt between the first-day price increase (01/16/12) and "Lucky Pig" outsold every 3rd-place Derby shirt since then, with the exception of the week of the price increase, which had the lowest sales figures across the board over the past 18 weeks; Waiting for the Sub is nearly tied for the lowest number of sales for a 3rd-place Derby shirt in 2012.

Thoughts:
1) I am so glad that I finally moved this data from .xls to .sav: it took approximately 10 seconds to pull up this data, although it's taken me 10 minutes to retrieve my jaw off the floor.
2) Everything else that we've been analyzing? It's not that. It's this. Sales fell off a cliff following the first week of April. Why? What changed? I'm... just... flabbergasted.

*You know, at least back in the era when we actually had first day sales instead of relying on the artists to PM us (i.e., this is excluding last week's 3rd-place Derby shirt, because we don't have any data from its sales).

+1 First thing I thought of. Even a play on words: Star Fissure/Fishing

To me, the pool of stars or whatever it is seems kinda two-dimensional.

Hmm. A hook the size of Texas threatening Earth. Michael Bay should make a movie about this.

I like the tear in the "fabric" of Space/Time itself. Nice touch!

but does The Fishing Spacesuit warning label read: "Be Careful not to hook Uranus"?

Ironic that 2 of the 3 derby winners have a starfield as a major part of the design. After all, a starfield is pretty much the 2-Dest image one can portray. They are so far away that our eyes can't differentiate any depth of field.

Why does everyone keep saying "he"? There is nothing to tell you whether the astronaut is female or male.

Another shirt that nicely sets the mood for a star watch. And a new explanation for the shooting star phenomenon.

1104. Or not. Who knows? And does anyone without inside access to the number still care?

ETA: 567 at 12:05 wootish time. Have to admit, I find this nightly sales-number-halving to be quite funny. Oh, and 570 at 12:06! That would be an impressive real-time DSR of 4320.

@nicebleed could you recommend or make available of this design for Print I'd love this as a poster form!

I was thinking of just getting a wallpaper format and just bringing it to a print shop but I'd rather support your work directly to you. Something on Etsy, I don't know. Please let me know!
