Thanks everyone for the love, much appreciated!

I know what it means, but it's a military phrase. Why is it in an internet history derby?
cdrewlow wrote:I know what it means, but it's a military phrase. Why is it in an internet history derby?
W. T. F. is pretty prolific as far as the internet is concerned. Its right up there with O. M. G. and L. O. L and all the other acronyms.
Re: Fox Nouveau
Really nice, Ramy. +1 While this is similer to your Dark Pheonix shirt as far as the style and some elements, I do not have a problem with repurposing those elements. Whatever we can do to save some time. I am disappointed that you entered a Nyan Cat first..... tsk tsk.
Re: Internet Art History
I would absolutely wear this. Some of the shirts I buy are too subtle, so only people who really stare at the shirts (stalkers) get the joke. This one is understandable at a glance. Awesome!
Re: The Creation of Nerd
Thank you all. The title refers to the title of the original work but i do not think it takes no title to understand the design. Can be interpreted in a way that everyone wants.
Wow, you really worked hard on this. Very nice job!
I think it says "That's not cool" buy I'm not sure
lilsquiggle wrote:W. T. F. is pretty prolific as far as the internet is concerned. Its right up there with O. M. G. and L. O. L and all the other acronyms.
Well, W.T.F. may be an internet phrase. But the military has been using Whiskey Tango Foxtrot to mean the same thing for a lot longer.
Re: LOL Revolution
Propaganda posters are some of my favorite pieces of art. Inspired by this poster: http://www.topdesignmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/propoganda_political_poster34.jpg

Never said they didn't. Was just explaining how it does have a link to the internet Its not my shirt, but I suspect the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is there because shirts cannot be text only for this derby. Hence the artist needed to find a way to represent the W. T. F. The phonetic alphabet is a pretty solid choice. Not entirely sure that I can see any connection to art history though >.>
oubliette wrote:and, i have to say this ...pop art doesn't have soft edges. The frames are there to represent the style. I guess that bears explaining to those not familiar with the era and Roy Lichtenstein (Or Jack Kirby for that matter).
Fan of Kirby here! .... and Lichtenstein.
Fantastic stuff! Thanks for the buttons, btw! -fuzzy
How do you vote on shirts? I want to vote on one!
tattooedbear wrote:Fantastic stuff! Thanks for the buttons, btw! -fuzzy
You are very welcome, Fuzzy! Thanks for the support and positive vibes. :D

You need to have bought a woot.shirt at some point on your account
lilsquiggle wrote:You need to have bought a woot.shirt at some point on your account
Oh. Okay, thanks!
baybei wrote:I have to admit, when I first saw it, I wasn't sure I liked it. But, I do, it's pretty cool. Reminds me of my first computer which was a Vic20! Minimal colors and all little boxes, just awesome!
thanks a lot Baybel
collinvh wrote:I normally like your work but I think this is my favorite design I've seen you create for woot! Also, amazing that it's only three color. U gots skills.
Thanks a lot Collin
Curious. What historical art style is this?
Re: 5 Past Midnight
Exceptional.
I love this idea. I would definitely buy this one. For Christmas gifts. Wish I could vote for as many as I would buy.
Why in the world are there so many cats? I mean, I have pet cats, but geesh.
cherylfrancis wrote:Curious. What historical art style is this?
Plays off one of the most famous images in the history of art.
Goldwave wrote:Plays off one of the most famous images in the history of art.
irrelevant, since the entry isn't done in the same style.
tarmawolf wrote:Finally!! Some good late entries! Now let's get this into the fog and displace the bullsh** up there now.
Please be kind to other artists... they're human too, you know...
Re: Hamster Safety Dance
It's nice to see a little Keith Haring in this derby.
Re: Warhol Music
Thanks! (o;
Re: ASCII Night
This would be awesome as a tote bag!
If this doesn't win I'm gonna be so sad. I really want one.
lilsquiggle wrote:Indeed. I also highly suspect the Fallout 3 thumbs up guy is massively copyrighted
That was going to be my argument. Shirt color aside, I immediately recognized that as the Fallout 3 character.
Problem would be solved if resubmitted with a grill below the other three panels.
Re: Do Your Part
Do want.
Re: 56K
Thanks for the support guys! Let's keep the votes coming ;)
My only question is, since mp3 is a patented file format, does it fall under the "no copyrighted stuff" rule? I do like the design, don't get me wrong.
Re: Abstract Connection
Really love your design this week. I'm surprised it isn't doing better with the voters. Awesome concept and execution. GMV.

Haaa.... as is the person who submitted it! Personally, I'm so dated I don't get all these cats.... I mean, sure, a few, but...
