We passed the park next to the sump today, in the car.
It was raining and there were no kids.
There were geese.
So I let Rusty out to chase them.

They all took off and he was running around the field to smell every place they were.
Suddenly I saw a goose still on the ground.
Why?
Maybe can't fly.
Maybe young and don't fly yet.
or
Maybe has young.

Rusty saw the goose and ran toward it.
The goose threw out it's wings and charged toward Rusty.
Then ran (fairly fast) past him.
Rusty caught up and got really close, but didn't grab the bird.
The goose lunged at him a few times.
Rusty barked like crazy, but didn't grab for the goose.

I got there and grabbed Rusty to put him back on the leash. All the while watching the goose, who was only about 2 feet away.
Goose didn't attack me, but didn't run away.

I dragged (with all my strength) Rusty away and the goose waited until we were back to the car and then went back to where it came from.

Best guess...was leading Rusty away from babies that had to be lead to the gate. where there is enough room for the babies to walk back into the fenced in sump.
There always seems to be two adults with the babies.

I haven't seen any young ones in a few weeks. I did look before I let him go.

Now I find a tiny scratch.

Then again, Rusty stuck his head in some bushes, looking for anything living there, or ran into the bush.
Might have done it himself.

What would you have done if the goose had chased you?

Took Rusty back to the vet and now he is going to get a shot twice a week for a month.
A shot I have to give him.
I stuck myself just checking out the needle.
Should be interesting.

If it works, there will be shots for life. I forget how often.

pffffft. I give our dog 2 shots a day

Edit: I know I'm not around much, but I'll put in my two cents. I also like that this thread stops and is renamed. A hundred plus possibly a few pages sounds good.

And the best part of keeping it that way is that Cruzer makes an appearance...eventually. It's much better than us showing up on his door step to see how he's doing.

The 2 minute research I just googled says that urine in the bladder is sterile but the pathway to the outside world is not. Chances are it will pick up bacteria before it reaches daylight. It seems curcumsised males will provide he "cleanest" samples, while females the most contaminated. So if anyone is in need of mostly bacteria free fluid I can hook you up.

A friend is having a cottage in bad need of repair demolished. Who would you contact to sell anything inside like sinks, faucets, piping (probably copper), plumbing, wiring, hardware?

good morning everybody! it was high tide so we had to jog in the really soft sand. we walked more than half of the distance. we are wiped out.
