It's time for a challenge! It's time to spread your wings! It's time to consider the wide variety of things that England has given us! Magna Carta! Downton Abbey! That show with the marionettes! Several types of cheeses! This week we want your designs that cover the true spirit of England... with a few noteworthy exceptions. Don't hate. Originate. And in honor of our favorite constitutional monarchy, we've decided this week's Guest Editor, of superior breeding and nobility, shall be Spiritgreen!

No Doctor Who, no Harry Potter, no Monty Python, no text-only shirts.

And remember the new Derby rules as announced last week:

  • 1st Place will still be chosen by popular vote from Shirt.Woot users.
  • 2nd Place will be chosen by consensus among our Art Directors.
  • 3rd Place will be chosen by a special, rotating Guest Editor.

Dang, SO close to the theme I was hoping for! (Scotland!!) Recently I've been really wanting an epic Braveheart/William Wallace themed shirt. Does him killing English people count?? (Just kidding.)

"That show with the marionettes!"

If someone were to actually produce a really solid Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet design, I might just have to break my personal "No Anvil" and "No Pop Culture" rules. *_*

Keep Calm and Marry Bates

Anyway, no text-only shirts will help mitigate that.

Oh, yes! But someone could take the RAVENS...and not Edgar Allen Poeish rehash, but the real Tower ravens.

That would make a fine fine GoT mashup.

Sherlock/Shameless mashup would make me giggle. Not sure if it would get hit for celebrity likeness, though.

In B4 the "spotted sunflower" designs.

I am also hoping someone has got something Neverwhere-themed.

Perhaps something related to Old Bailey, or the Marquis de Carabas, or even the Angel Islington. Or Blackfriars.

Such good ideas stirring, or already being worked on~ Love the Shameless, Downton, and corgis mentions quite a bit! Does anyone see a worthy design in such media populars as Coupling, Black Books, dare I say Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd, and H2G2?

Personally, doing Keeping Up Appearances, or Are You Being Served? is the way to go. And I'd just swoon if there was a Marmite sub. Nom a bit? <3

Usually I am against too many cat shirts.... but this is the first thing that popped into my mind for this derby. It's in the early stages, but I thought I'd share since this is the first thing you thought of too :P Any thoughts?

No, I appreciate the input. These are just the colors I started with, so they are definitely open to alteration. I'm going to try a few different colors, and something brighter will definitely be in the mix. Thanks

I second the color change. To be very technical, the current combination looked a bit funky. The contrast was just a bit off. Otherwise, funny concept!
