I do a decent amount of copy writing for work and also a lot of Googling when I'm unsure of grammar rules.

I don't remember what I was writing, but I found a rule which indicated it was acceptable to use the apostrophe if the lack of it might cause confusion. Maybe it's bending the rule a little, but I think it's important when writing (or designing) for the masses (versus say writing a thesis paper or something).

The exception to Rule 11 here.

Re: Ba'Kins

Other tagline ideas were...
Our Ba'Kin is your Bacon!
We Treat you like Family!
The Best Viddles is Bacon! (Then I read "viddles"(or vittles?) refers to veggies or food that is good for you, haha)

To the top, nice work. Still wondering if "V" and "N" go use the restroom, then we'd most likely "C" a "BM," right? Lol...

Normally I avoid designs that require explanations(you see, there's this website, and they have a contest called a derby, and the theme that week was .....), but this is educational.

You will definitely be seeing more of me around. Again, thank you so much for your comment.

I like the original better. Though the tagline is more legible here, the shape of the arrow is less pleasing. And I abhor faux-aging effects. It's so Abercrombie & Fitch, I feel embarrassed even shopping on a site that prints such shirts.

Good luck with the original though. It's a fine idea, well-executed.

princessbunny wrote:I think the issue is that shirt woot can only print down to a certain size. The shirt comp does not appear to be within woot printable scope. I would love a moderator or editor to chime in here...

I think there's an optical illusion going on here: the artist put the mock-up on a background that's the same color as the shirt and then outlined the shirt - but not its exact outline - in purple. If you squint and locate the actual outline of the shirt, the image looks like it's probably within the printable area (as the artist has noted), but the optical illusion/imprecise outline camouflage the sleeves, so it really does look like it's outside the printable area at first glance.

benjaminleebates wrote:I might sub one without the slogan, not sure if the joke is subtle enough... An opinions?

This is enormously funny; just the mere idea of "the alchemist's spork" is enough to make me laugh, and the overall design is well-executed. The slogan implies a double-entendre that isn't inherent in the design (IMHO); I suspect some will prefer the slogan, but it might be safer for work (and to wear around teenagers!) without it.

Re: Snake Head Eating The Head On The Opposite Side

If you don't know, Ouroboros is the name for a snake eating its own tail. I always thought the line in I Palindrome I was referring to this symbol, so I used it for the title. Thanx for looking!
