This has the look of an old timey movie poster, which is perfect 'cause I'm thinking of the silent German film version of Nosferatu from 1922. This captures that feeling quite well. Now that's old school vampire for ya.

Here's my take on the shirt.

I really enjoyed this one. Not much to explain other than it's a neat vampire shirt but it's still cool.

Me too- what I first saw was a friendly looking brontosaurus with a quill and inkwell poking out of its back. It took a while to find the vampire.

Sigh, darn you, shirt woot! I have a rule, a rule that keeps me from buying five hundred shirts: "if it has foxes or vampires, it's an automatic buy"...."and sometimes cats"...."and teacher references...or books...books are great, too"

So when it says "The Vampyr," what it really means is "The thematic ripoff of the Harry Potter 7 cover," right?

This is what a vampire should look like. The overbearing terror, the slight bit of camp, it's fantastic.

I could have said "fangtastic", but I DIDN'T.

Dude. *Dude*. This is obviously a homage to the first vampire in the movies, Count Orlok in Murnau's "Nosferatu", and his iconic shadow-profile.

I personally don't think this shirt rips off HP in any way, shape, or form. But if it did, you could look at it in better lighting and have it be a bit of a tribute to HP then since HP is amazing. You know, instead of jumping to conclusions and assuming it's a rip-off instead of something nice. lol

"It was already dark when the townspeople gathered at the town hall to discuss the vampire. He'd been wreaking havoc on their small community for quite some time, and it was only getting worse. In just the past month alone, he'd bitten nearly 18 people and tried to bite upwards of 60 more. He had to be stopped, but how? That's what the mayor wanted to talk about."

Love the shirt but I really thought the townspeople were going to call in the Dog Whisperer given the write-up's emphasis on how many people "the Vampyr" had bitten. Vampyr- stupid name for a dog anyway.

'So when it says "The Vampyr," what it really means is "The thematic ripoff of the Harry Potter 7 cover," right?'

Lots of different covers for that book. Can't be the one with the creepy hand reaching out of a cape cause creepy hands coming out of over-sized capes have been around for a very, very long time and certainly predate HP. I would say it is more a homage to the classic 1922 movie Nosferatu with its iconic image of the shadow with those creepy hands going up the staircase. There are probably earlier examples too. So it is both HP book designer and this T-shirt designer that borrow from Nosferatu. Be inspired by the best is what I always suggest.

But great design for Halloween. Love how the hands don't jump right out at you immediately. At first glance I thought the fingers were one of the bats but then a second later my eye recognized the vampyre. Dracula does not own Halloween. There is always room for the German classics too!
