I thought that little nub on the top of the ear was meant to be the rounded part on the top of the ear, like it was slightly sticking out to the side and rounded --

Thank you! Your comment is not surprising. I work in juvenile product development in my day job, so my illustration style does tend to skew younger.

Well I'm glad you like it and thanks! I actually had alot of ideas for the derby this week. You can see my second idea 'bear fishing' that I just put up. Hopefully I can get my third one out sometime tomorrow.
