I had in mind the hitchhikers wandering across the country with a guitar strapped to their back, and just the clothes on their body. I realize you don't see as many of those nowdays, but back in the 70's and 80's it was fairly common. One of my friends was a musician who hitchhiked from place to place w/ his guitar, until he sold a couple of songs in Nashville and could afford a vehicle.

EDIT: Also, they title of this piece ("Freebird") is a direct take on the song "Free Bird" (or "Freebird") by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which contains the same imagery (of a guy "moving on" - which, in the 70's, would have been the quintessential hitchhiker w/ the guitar on his back).

I want that shirt!!

Seems like the joke would work better if T. Rex's right armpit was actually being restrained by part of the guitar. I find myself thinking, "Why doesn't he just bend over a little bit more?"

Because the guitar would bend with him. Try no to be ridiculous when you rewrite other people's concepts.

Sure it is. Clowns are people outfits, so dressing a lion up as a clown is an animal as a person.

Actually, to follow up my own comment - and because I'm new and still figuring out how this stuff works - when that happens, (a strikingly similar entry has gone up while one was working on one's own), is there an etiquette?

For now, I've just deleted my entry. It would need it's text deleted in any case. But having just spent half a day on the thing, it's definitely a little bit painful!

Edit: this probably belongs in the derby thread. Moving that direction....
