Re: TGIF resub
Better colors and a better comp. Please vote again.
TobiasAmaranth wrote:I apologize, I meant gradients with the background as in having the background fade out into the shirt color rather than having solid edges. Not specifically gradients inside the background. :3 Like, the flat works great for the characters in this instance. But the background doesn't need to be so blocky/solid.
Yeah, I created a series of halftoned backgrounds, but it just didn't look right. It kept fighting with the manner in which I stylized the characters. In the pursuit of different backgrounds I made a few different decisions. My wife helped me to finalize a few colors.
Re: Gone Fishing
Love the colors, shading and highlights. It really pops!
Love the colors. Very 80's. I would definatly wear this shirt.
I'm having trouble uploading my artwork, but this is my image I want to enter... hopefully I can get my upload issue straightened out... see if this works...
Re: Indubiously
absolutely love this one. i want it.
Re: Postdog

pdaywitt wrote:cool shirt... but, i'm surprised that nobody's questioned that midterms are next week and you still had time to make all the snowflakes different?! btw - really cool shirt!
When midterms are next week, things like making each snowflake different suddenly become very important. Sure, I'm not finished writing that paper on acquired deficits to the auditory input lexicon, but my house is decorated in little foam pumpkins that I handmade. (Adorable penguin, Ramy! Now stop checking comments on your Derby entry and go study!)
I get that there are rules, but I feel like the text here is subtle enough that the artist probably didn't even think of it. No need to get huffy.

Re: Dr. Hoo
He needs a bow tie.
Re: Mr. Fish
I kinda wish he was wearing the monocle...
This breaks my heart. Such strong meaning.
Re: One Remote To Rule Them All
erm, i dont think there are any animals in that design lol.. read the derby topic
Re: Kung Poo
i dont think poo is an animal...
When did poop become an animal?
sirend wrote:erm, i dont think there are any animals in that design lol.. read the derby topic
Not only that, but other designs have been rejected for having numbers. No text this week!
Re: Good Boy
a closer look at the artwork: enjoy!
Really incredible
epcooper wrote:I have a cockatoo also, love this shirt
I have a Goffins Not a Citron Crested, figured the crested type of cockatoos would go for a better design and the look more like a punk rocker lol.

thanks a lot

Re: charging rhino
Oh, lawlz. *smacks forehead with palm* You have a style that's very recognizable. I glance over the entries and your work stand out every time. I would buy this in a second! gmv for sure!
Re: Igpay Atinlay
It seems a bit weird saying this, but this design is almost too good for this site. The detail is stunning.
Even if the theme was no theme at all, just random shirts, I still don't think this would make it past the rejectionator.
Re: Hopper's got the greens-remade, resubbed
Re voted.
MrsBones wrote:I kinda wish he was wearing the monocle...
I think that's a gold watch.
I revised to align with suggestions; I think he looks more recognizably a frog playing a harmonica.
Re: Eye Exam
Hahaha! great work!

L3g3ndQ wrote:why is there such a large block of pixelation?? and why is it so far up?? is the bear really happy to be naked?? sorry that's just what i thought when i saw it
Must be a female bear. 'Cause bears have boobs. Don't they?
Seems like that mosaic is going to up the color count.
Re: The best camouflage
Fantastic, but this seems to run afoul of the "original ideas only" rule.

Halftones.
Re: Stripes
Woah. Love the coloring, that's awesome.
