Lots and lots of clip art and live-traced photos, jumbled together and regurgitated for the masses, like all of kharma's designs.

Wow! You're an angry little person.

Really nice! Reminds me of a wearable version of this: http://methanestudios.com/category/prints?item=5884

Hope it gets printed!

kharmazero wrote:yes that's right your links are correct.I guess that if it has not been rejected it's because i use vector librairies in a creative way and i don't base the design on it.This one was made at the same time that my first print on shirtwoot, Astral Ark.By reading your comment i have the feeling it was easy to achieve this, just had to download a couple of vector and smash it on a canvas, without thinking of it.So easy and fast.It was not the case, there are a lot of little details and scenes.I had to create a set of vector brush to complete the spatial gate, and tested a lot of stuff before beiing happy of the results. Then i had to fix details to keep it logical , in perspective, balance , shape, in a word, something realistic. So yes you're right i was lazy after 3 days on it, and used vector librairies for the animals, the trees, some buildings, characters and helicopters.

I know it's not as easy as it looks. I challenge anyone to do a shirt in the "kharmazero style". My attempt looked terrible. I've found my own way of doing a pleasing abstract composition, but composition is the key word to this style. Kharma is clearly talented in that regard.

It is a bit frustrating how the rules are enforced though. As Kharma said, he "uses vector libraries in a creative way and doesn't base the design on it". Maybe that's why he doesn't get rejected, while lyonscc gets raked over the coals. Or maybe if it's suspected the artist could have drawn it, but didn't, it'll pass. It would be nice to have a standard in writing.

Can't you just put a fat guys shadow instead ? It would be funny. Also I looked at the other derby's..... interpretation was given a lot of leeway !

I'm impressed by the color blending you've done here with your halftones. Any chance you could supply larger views to show you did it? Usually my attempts at doing that fail, so I'd be interested to see how you did it.

It is fairly straight forward.
In screen printing, you want to print darker colors on top of lighter colors to get good coverage. With that in mind I painted blue on the layer above yellow.
then, on a new 50% opacity layer, using the same blue, painted on top the yellow.
Same deal the the red- on a new 50% opacity layer, using red, I painted on top the blue.

The result looked like this

tgentry wrote a great tutorial that should help you with turning this into halftones

This was the result

it's also worth noting that I had all of the layers for the puddle in a group with a layer mask the shape of the puddle. That way I didn't have worry about how the colors overlapped and could work pretty quickly.

I see quite a few great designs this derby, just like this one. And none of them are in the fog yet! That's gotta change!

I love the play on words, the design and the little Bohr model. Great idea!

2 cats and a ninja that looks like a cat in the fog...gotta say I honestly didn't see that coming. LOL

Seriously how many cat shirts can one person own? Are there any dog people in this place or is it just the cat-loving-tree-hugging-rainbow-wearing-unicorn-loving singles?

FYI...wearing these type of shirts are probably why you're single....just saying
