With no survivors from Reckoning 275, we'll highlight a non-shirt Reckoning veteran this week: TheGolux. She tirelessly collects and posts the first day sales information for each newborn shirt. Without TheGolux's steadfast contributions to the Number Nerd brigade, the DSRs would be impossible to calculate because first day sales don't count towards the Reckoning standings. Beyond the DSRs, other Number Nerds use first day sales information to examine trends between changing Derby rules and sales, correlations between sales and changes at shirt.woot, and a variety of other nerdy numbers. That sounds about as accurate as what my personal numbers would be. I have no idea how many were sold at the 12 dollar price point and there's been a huge swing in my numbers this week too and I'm sure others have had a similar uptick. Their number tracking system seems slightly off again as the best seller number doesn't match the actually sold number again too :S

I had to pull out my graphing calculator to figure out why the DSRs for the new shirts were so far off (unsurprisingly: operator error). I was prepared to pull out an abacus, but perhaps I should have tried using a crystal ball.

After some thought, I decided to ignore the woot-off sale but post DSRs anyway. I think we missed pulling numbers for most of the shirts, and especially with the sale extended on Binge and Nevermore... I've been wondering for several months whether the woot-off sales were still excluded entirely from the Reckoning standings, so I'm curious to see how the including-woot-off-sales DSRs stack up. I have reliable numbers from fishbiscuit and Kevlar so we have something to check against.

The DSRs for Ugly Holiday Sweater 2012 have been higher-than-its-ranking since its debut on the Reckoning; I'm not sure why: maybe long-sleeve sales are included in the sales number but not the Reckoning?

It just seems "wrong" somehow that so many people are buying Procrastination University - shouldn't they intend to buy it and not quite get around to it?

True story: My Procrastination University hoodie took nine days from "shipping information sent to FedEx" to "Arrived at FedEx location: FEDEX SMARTPOST DALLAS, TX." That's some impressive procrastination!
