Just chiming in with the admiration of your typography. Also it looks quite nice on the shirt. Nice job !

From a true admirer of your work.... the text design and scrollwork are phenomenal ! The wolf appears a bit tired, comparatively speaking.

Re: The Scarlet Letter

Love it!!!! Actually looks like an artistic piece unlike too many of the other shirts that get posted here that are absolutely ghastly and somehow get tons of votes. I'm starting to wonder how people actually vote and what exactly they are looking for in a shirt. It's a shame so many awesome, creative shirts get ignored and the ones that rise to the top are over-used ideas that look horrible as shirts.

I agree with you on the fog picks... go check out the community and you will see how most of these have worked out. This shirt is very creative and original, a nice change ! But... in my opinion, I would have liked to have seen a bit more definition in her face, on this design.

Re: The Raven

Very beautiful and evocative! I'd like the shirt a little better if the design was a bit smaller, rather than taking up the whole shirt. Really nice work though!

Re: The Wizard of Oz

Here's my entry. I actually had to think long and hard about this one. At first, I was going to go with the Count of Monte Cristo, because it's a great story, but no ideas were coming to me. A friend mentioned The Wizard of Oz, and this just kind of popped into my head... and I thought it was pretty funny. :P

Thank you so much! I've been working on designing straight from my Wacom tablet as opposed to drawing things out at my table to scan and then render. This was a bit of a trial and a restart for my derby entries.

Re: McGregor Pie Co.

Here's an idea I've had kicking around a while. This derby gave me an excuse to finish it. Based on Peter Rabbit, if it's not painfully obvious.

No Woodcuts then.

How about "original artwork only."

Re: Maybe this wasn't the best idea...

The swirlies on this are so awesome, but I wonder how well they will show up on the printed shirt. Perhaps the coloring is just off on my monitor...Is the shirt navy or black?

Re: Winnie the Pooh

No cranberries blanks this Derby... and that red/yellow shape is close enough to a trademarked logo of McDonald's, and there's no modern pop culture references this week so you might get a visit from the Rejectionator.

Re: Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came

Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came is an epic poem from Robert Browning's collection, "Men and Women". This poem, whose title comes from Shakespeare's King Lear, shows up in modern culture in numerous places. In particular, Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series (and much of King's Universe) was inspired by this work...

Thanks Orabbit... Now I gotz to get me some sleep!!! I'll have to take a look at everything in the derby tomorrow. My contacts are way to cloudy at this point. I'm not really sure how I finished this design through the blur.
