So that's what a moon looks like when it's drawn and not a photo run through filters!

doctortachyon wrote:Please note re-upped version is up please place votes there. As stated can be on most colors went with olive green...but could be on any color.

Thanks and sorry about the confusion of the two posts.

You should delete this entry (the royal blue one) so that you don't "steal" votes from yourself: you want all the votes to go to the design that could print, not the one that will be rejected on Monday. For the first 24 hours after you submit, there should be a red X over your entry; you can click on it and delete the entry. (After 24 hours, you can't delete an entry.)

And just to clarify - you may already know this - at woot, Derby entries print exactly as they're submitted to the Derby. When you pick a color for your design, that's the color it prints on. You're right that your design (which is clever! I like it) would look good on just about any dark color, but from woot's perspective and the perspective of the Derby voters, they don't care: what you see is what you vote for is what prints.

Glad you were able to resubmit on another color so quickly!

Re: Recalculating route (Odysseus)

I love this! But I'd love it even more if the shirt said 'Odysseus' instead of 'Ulysses.' Just a personal preference.

orabbit wrote:Boy, I never knew there were so many fans of this semi-obscure poem.

I don't think the poem is obscure at all. It is referenced a lot in pop culture. Off the top of my head I remember it being quoted in Mass Effect 3 and 30 rock. Plus they made a movie recently that references the poem in the title. (Invictus)

I really like the composition of this design. If only references to that poem weren't to ubiquitous already. Still it gets my vote.

Re: The Phantom of the Opera Noir

Noir-ish with a bit of German Expressionist, which might be odd for a French novel.

Gaston Leroux, 1910.

towertuote postid="5334tower139" user="fishbiscuit5"]If I had to venture a guess, I'd say because the design depicts King's version of Roland as the Gunslinger in a postmodern apocalypse. Browning's Roland was one of Charlemagne's knights. Perhaps changing the character would bring it on theme?[/quote]

Yeah, King might be old, but I'm pretty sure he didn't write this before 1920... maybe1921.
I do love me some dark tower though.
