It's easy to recognize his designs because he doesn't do any drawing. It's all text and glow and image/photo manipulation.

I've always thought that if he paired up with somebody who was great at sketching but maybe not so much on the coloring/effects they could maybe be the next Drakxxx/CD

Oh Wow! Great minds think alike - I just saw this right after I posted a similar thought!

Love the shading in your skull! Every week I look at all the great designs and realize that I have soooo far to go in learning how to draw and design.

Nice job!

Edit: GMV +1

It'd be nice to have a Dread Pirate Roberts shirt print this week!

In the end, I went with red, because of the symbolism (and family arm-twisting), though I liked the blue slightly better...

This design is a parody of the Raised Fist motif used in a lot of socialist and labor-related propaganda-style designs (See the Wikipedia Article on the use of this symbolism.). (So, yes, before some Einstein points out that the fist bears a similarity to the Raised Fist icon, the similarity is intentional, but not a direct copy - similar to, but not as blatant as, PP's design a couple of weeks ago.

In the end, I much liked the alliteration of the last letters, and the better flow of the Italian.

Great design... though I am saddened that it's no longer a "Grammar N*zi" shirt. The wife and I were hoping to pick up two if it were.

orabbit wrote:I know. Patrick, if you're going to use fake Latin, fine, but mixing the two is grating. You should have used the imperative form - cape, or substitute carpo, with its very well known imperative form - carpe. Carpe omnem would have worked nicely.

I think an infinitive would work better. Necessitas capere omnem (capere as in "to capture", not carpere as in "to pluck").

I'd be all over that, then.

By the way, don't take me as some nit-picky dead language nerd. I'm just some scrub who took Latin in high school, but even knowing as little as I do it's painfully obvious that this was thrown into an online translator and you just rolled with it. The word "ad" in particular jumps out because it's a preposition with a bunch of different uses (modifying a verb in this way not being one of them).

tl;dr please fix it cuz I'm a dorky 90s kid who took Latin and I want it ._.

How exactly does the addition of a fez on each character NOT make this a copyright infringement???

Thanks, OS, and @dawhites - what did your dad call the royal order? I decided to update it a bit to reflect the Buddhist history of Thailand. I wanted to be a little more culturally in tune than we were in the old days when jokes like this were still funny!

I think that the addition of the capes to hide some of the Doctors' "clothing" (on whats-his-face from Half-Life[?], for example) is what is really what keeps it from crossing the line... You can say it's not really Zoidberg because he's not really dressed in his "normal" Futurama attire, you know what I mean? But the fezzes help to say that it's not the same character, (as the Doctor here looks more like 10; who never wore a fez, as opposed to 11; who knows how cool they are)

Does anybody have a http://shirt.woot.com/offers/cloak-of-visibility-lightweight-hoodie and/or http://shirt.woot.com/offers/who-needs-gravity-zip-up-hoodie in MXL that they don't want and/or need to sell? Also, that other one wasn't printed, so it doesn't really count as being out there for the purposes of no copies of available-somewhere shirts.

Let me understand, you're saying IF someone's original artwork does not go to print then it's open for anyone to copy or reuse?

Can someone please comment on this, I'm trying to understand. I'm asking just in general, not in reference to the original post.

Tomspc, I think that comment refers to the "similar shirts exist" rule of rejection. Like that rule refers only to printed designs. I don't think anyone feels that if a design does not go to print it's open for being copied :S At least I don't think so
