ha! Sometimes the simple laughs are the best ones. Nice to see a bird shirt pop up, hope it can keep one hop ahead of the felines.

Oh that's cute. I like how you had to get a good look to get it. Plus, assuming it's accurate, birders will freaking die over it.

And if it's accurate, you could also consult your shirt in a pinch as a guide when you see a bird.

I never noticed it until I saw this post.

I'm a birder and I love it! In for one for me already and maybe more for family members. Nice job on the birds. Someone lazy would have given them all the same beaks and such. So adorable, too!

Great movie ( especially if you like birds) with Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson. A friend said the book is even better. I haven't gotten to that yet.

I wish there was a cardinal. I also wish that said cardinal and oriole had baseball bats for another subtle joke.

I love backyard birding and adore this shirt, even though we don't normally get too many mockingbirds. These birds are all reasonably accurate, too (ringlets for robins even!), instead of the artistic license often employed by shirt artists. They're not Audubon, but as far as I can tell, there are no major unintentional mistakes or errors.

For people hoping for mockingjays, all I can say is I'm glad it's just a fun bird shirt, and not a shoehorned Hunger Games reference.

Ahh... but one must not forget the noble pink flamingo, as it stands for hours in peoples yards just to spruce up the place.

I think the reference to ringlets refers to the white markings around the robin's eyes. :-)

Dang, really wanted this until I saw the mockingbird.

Just what I need, a new way to give someone the bird.

The artist's description reads like this: "ochopika was promised a diamong ring on the unlikely event that this mockingbird don't sing. " It should probably read "diamond ring in the unlikely event..."

I like the shirt, though - fun, and good for spring! And to whomever referenced The Big Year: I haven't seen the movie, but I enjoyed the book. The end seemed a little rushed, but it was an interesting look (from the perspective of a very, very casual birder) into the world of competitive birding.

I think there should have been an eagle on the shirt.. its song is undoubtedly the Star-Spangled Banner. Well, that and the Colbert Report intro song.

This is so true, those Mockingbirds are real jerks.

Thanks for all the nice comments! It was fun to look up each bird and draw them in a semi-cartoony way. I tried to be especially accurate with the beaks and the feathers since those are defining features when identifying birds. I also noticed that Chickadees are absurdly cute. Look at it!

Chickadees are just adorable. Fat little bodies and just so FUZZY looking.

Also, if you ever want to make a sequel to this shirt, I'm on that, too.

So many wonderful songbirds, and so many ways to mock.

My wife loves birding, so I'm obviously in for one. Before buying, though, I spent some time on Google Images checking out the colorations of the birds. They're pretty accurate.

She will be pleased.

Except the bird sound meant to be an eagle played at the beginning of the Colbert Report is the call of a Red-tailed Hawk... Bald Eagles make wimpy chortling sounds, unknown to the average Joe.
