Hi again! I re-subbed because I spelled the title wrong...can't have that.

Hope you like it!

Re: Imaginary Thinking

Two colors (white & glow ink) on navy. The quote that makes up the thought bubble in the "night" version is as follows:

"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." ~Albert Einstein

Love the design, but how is the nose red during the day but glows at night? Doesn't the glow ink have to be on top of white?

Nevermind, I just realized that WOOT meant they can't run the content. The first comment threw me off. Oh well...

Oops. It's white in the print ready file. It must have gotten left behind when I made the comp. It's like this:

I'm not sure if I should resubmit. It seems like such a small thing. Urg! Thanks for pointing it out!

rasabi wrote:Soooo I read the pre-derby feedback about 15 minutes ago. I will be making a "perfectionist" version when I have time later today. In the meantime I hope to convey my tongue-in-cheek intent. I made this design with the aim of irking the masses. Not a specific group of people, but I realize humor can be a polarizing thing at times.

Anyway, if it meets with rejection I'll understand...

I wish you could spend an hour with OCD so you could understand how misguided and insensitive this is. I don't demand that all Woot's shirts be politically correct, but I do wish they would all be sensitive to serious medical conditions.

This shirt does nothing but perpetuate a false stereotype about what OCD really is as well as minimizing the damage it can do to a person's life.

And for the record, while I'm sure some people with OCD are meticulous about their clothing, my socks are not matching right now. I spend my time counting and memorizing and repeating sentences and words over and over in my head and worrying about everything from allowing anything green in my kitchen to my neighbor breaking into my apartment and killing my cat to my fear of Manhattan north of the George Washington Bridge. I don't have time to care about my socks.

Since I was already researching this, the reference to Magritte has been done (though surprisingly not as often as I would have imagined) The GItD really makes it though.

beware1984 wrote:How will the black silhouette of the doctor work when there is white behind the glow?

The same way the white area around the silence stays dark, I assume. That silhouette area of the window just won't have glow in the dark ink on it.
