Re: I'm Friendly
Plague doctors' masks are so creepy. It's like they thought to themselves 'how can we make this near apocalyptic situation just a -bit- more terrifying?'
Re: The Ultimate Paradox
You are submitting this to the poster derby as well right? or can you not do both?

paxdomino wrote:I know this is a similar concept to Ochopica's design in the pre-derby comments, but I swear I had already been working on this a couple hours beforehand. I think our styles are individual enough and the designs unique enough for both designs to get attention. Thoughts?
This is horrific, I'd say you nailed macabre.
Re: Poe's Murderous Words
What could be more macabre than Edgar Allan Poe?
Okay, lots of things--like Poe's head sewn on to the body of an enormous glow-in-the-dark octopus. Or Poe's child-bride-cousin's head sewn onto the body of a gigantic neon green goat.
Yeah, yeah. You get the idea.
Still, Poe is one of the most macabre figures in American literary history, and this quote was one that I ran across (in LeRoy Ashby's With Amusement for All: A History of American Popular Culture since 1830) that I wasn't familiar with.
I don't remember Poe using many ninja stars in his stories, but, regardless, I tried to stay true to the spirit of his macabrishness... macabrosity... macabretude?
I don't think I've ever wanted a shirt to print so badly. I'm going to be grouchy for weeks if this doesn't.
