Remember how you learned in history class that Teddysaurus Rexavelt led the attack on San Juan hill and then brutally devoured the Rough Riders with his Volvo-sized mandibles? Us neither, but it sounds pretty fun!

This week we're asking you to re-interpret historical figures and events with an animalistic twist. Portraits are fun (Winston Churchill bulldog, anyone?), but so are entire historical tableaus (canine constitutional committee?). This is a weird one!

I had just decided that I was going to be too busy to submit this week! Alas.... this theme may be too good to pass on.

I was thinking about Hitchcock.... and his suits. I took some liberties with the type of bird. Any thoughts?

Other than the shirt color (lightening is a good idea), I think it's adorable!

You're welcome. I think slate will be a better option; there's a reason why more and more designs that were originally released on asphalt have been reprinted on slate in the side sales.

Going to be an interesting one!

I reworked this Antoni Gaudi design a while back: the visionary architect and all round imaginative dreamer.

Thanks! I'm very into my Gaudi.

Wow, your Cathoven design really looks like the maestro himself. Great illustration!

I've been working on a more political idea today, roughed out here:

Is this easy to understand the meaning, or would people think Nekobus. (it is definitely not a Nekobus reference :-p)

Thank you, Spiritgreen!
I get the reference. And I like how you did it with the cat and mouse. Clever!

Oh cheers! That's good.

Thinking about the technique I want to use for a finished version, this probably won't be derby ready. Gotta learn some stuffs first.

I got it right away.... but that could be because I had the same idea...lol. Glad I went a different way, this is great.

Utterly love the pic. I got the reference straight away but must admit about 40% of me also thought of the Nekobus. But that just might be because my brain is utterly totoro-ed.
I would love to wear it though for what it represents & think more people (at least around here) would get the ref rather then think of nekobus..

Thanks so much for replying, eehad and blk909! That's great to hear. I've made some good progress on it but I like the message too much to rush it.
