Loved this song the first time it was popular, back when I was in high school in the 70s.

Those were my high school years also. Peter's mix tapes were retro-memories heaven. Loved that they included The Raspberries' "Go All The Way."

Nice job SG! I was just saying the other day how I needed an awesome Blue Swede shirt.

I love this shirt and I am currently listening to this song as I type this... after I saw the movie on Saturday I promptly went out and bought the "Awesome Mix Vol 1" from amazon.

True, but "ooga chaka" wasn't in his version.

Ooh, might have to grab this considering I smushed exactly this bit of the song into a mash-up last year. Was mightily amused when I then heard the same Ooga Chakas in the GOTG trailer.

Looks like the Month of Matt is spilling into the following month. Yet to see the movie, but really digging the type treatment.

Love that my parents raised me on good music when I was growing up. Enjoyed the song then and lovin' this new version now <3

Also helps that I saw the movie this last weekend XD Soooo many great songs on it and (no spoiler, promise!) they just made the ending that much better!

Thanks guys!

Loved the write up today, btw. It doesn't get the same appreciation it did when it was on the front page but it still makes Woot special. :^)

Read the write-up once you mentioned it, since the tune was stuck in my head anyway XD You're right. It's pretty epic :D

I'm kinda amazed & highly, so highly, disappointed nobody has mentioned Tarantino resurrected this song from the 70's graveyard for Reservoir Dogs & that is the only reason we & James Gunn knows it now. Really, internet? I expect better from you. Callous bastard :P
