The Gathering
Corvus corax has never had a better press agent.
Most people, they see a bird fly in the window, they freak out and get the broom. One or two people, a bird flies in the window, they go out and buy a costume and avenge their dead parents. But for Edgar Allan Poe, a bird through the window was a chance to write a poem that even today echoes through American literature.
How many poems do you know that have been made into comic books, movies, plays and, yes, t-shirts? How many poems are read each year on the radio, quoted ad nauseam, inspire special Halloween episodes of sitcoms and yet still get treated like high literature? Much like the mysterious raven, Poe’s work endures for reasons we can’t quite explain, but all sort of understand.
And check that sweet mustache. Dude was mad fashionable.
Wear this shirt: to the midnight movie. It’s the perfect mix of devil-may-care and cooler-than-you.
Don’t wear this shirt: if you’re an usher. It’s a good joke but probably they’ll want you in a uniform.
This shirt tells the world: “When it comes to his career, they’re totally raven.”
We call this color: A Life As Cold As Silver
