Re: Bookworm

Is the "figure 1" part of the design?

I still wear this all the time to my local noodle house and they love it. (They are indeed Japanese.)

Awesome. It's the only yellow shirt I've ever done. So it's special that way. Also noodle-ly.

This sums up the Woot experience perfectly. I think it'll take top spot.

Re: Felinophobics Beware

Am I the only one who cares that there is a perfectly good word for "fear of cats"?? It's not as CUTE, but it exists. The graphics alone (and the palette) would have made this a winner, IMNHO, so why do we need a cutesy neologism?
O.K., going back under my rock now.

Ailurophobia is definitely a lesser known word, so I can understand the use of a more created name.

(As I bought one, this gets a vote.)

Re: Out of Patience

This would be really striking with white text on a black shirt.

That's one of the things I love about this derby. Gives you a fresh way to look at the offerings. I've been paying attention and missed more than a few.

And agree, this illustration is epic.

Re: Felinophobics Beware

There are actually several words that mean fear of cats, ailurophobia is the Greek based word, I decided to go with the Latin based felinophobia for recognizability. This design was originally from the psychology Derby so I kind of needed to tie in the phobia and not just make a stack of cats and call it psychology. Thanks for the vote Narf!

Re: work in progress

Although it's physically possible, you can't really submit a new entry to this derby -- it's a recap of 2017 printed designs. Save it for another one.

Also, there's no blank like that so try using the template provided on the submission page.

I find blue and navy designs kindof recede into the background. It's harder for those detail images to pop like a red would. #ColourTheory

Also, Simic, you're right; this should be way higher for its sheer awesomeness.

The preview makes it looked as if it is ripped from somewhere. Please check carefully if this designs wins, if it's legit.

Not sure what you're saying here. This is a woot shirt already (as all are in this derby) and is for sale here:

FWIW, this derby is a recap of the shirts of 2017 -- hence the community choice topic.

And youre right. It doesn't pop, especially when printed. The derby was monotone. (It looked horrible on red though.)
