Probably a legitimate fear. I have experience silk screening from digital color photographs, using Photoshop to prep the screen images. Depending on the complexity and the balance of colors, it can either go great or turn into a mud pie! There's a bit of trial and error (and luck) involved in getting the pixel angles correct and an image that translates well.
