Re: The Riveter

Another teacher here. I usually just buy science and math shirts for school. I was hoping there would be a teacher superhero shirt- getting bummed as I scrolled (sorry to the other entrants). Super bummed when I saw this was rejected! I understand why, but, oh, man, I'd rock this in a heartbeat in conjunction with the #armmewith movement. Maybe you could reach out to Emma for permission to use her likeness...

I think the key issue here is that there's no real parody. There are tons of minion-inspired shirts here (and everywhere else), but there's some other theme tying it together other than "Minions".

I spent hours on 5 designs last week bc I couldn't choose a direction, and then you throw down this gem. How did I not think of teaching = superpower? Msg me sooner next time ;P

I don't know, man. I give up. :P

I made a disclaimer in a reply a derby or two ago that a factor was "skill of the team".

Maybe we just had a kick-*** team. I know our production manager had been screen printing since he formed his digits in the womb.

I assume Woot has a great team. If I ever place in a derby and they have an issue with the art, I'd be glad to work with them.

Hey -- I thought I was acknowledging that conversation. If that didn't come through I apologize. My main point was that dithering isn't a "traditional" halftone technique and that it doesn't even matter in a DTG world anyway. Sorry if that sounded like I was kicking old dirt around -- not my intent.

No sweat. I didn't take any offense. I was smiling when I typed that reply.

The thing is: we really were fortunate enough to have an awesome crew. Beyond what I think is an awesome crew, I can't measure what the "average" screen printer is capable of.
