Haha, loving the pre-emptive wiki-ing.

So here's a completely unrelated wiki link instead.

This shirt teaches a very valuable lesson:

If you make your igloo waaaay cooler than anybody else's, then eskimo chicks will dig you for sure.

I love how the fellow on top has taken the same pose as the bird, just to make sure everybody get's IT.

You know, whatever it may be.

Uhh, how would that make sense? If anything IT would be the fact that he's the man considering he just carved his own house up into something wicked.

Wow, thanks so much woot. This is a fantastic surprise. Thanks also to everyone who voted for this one the first (and second) time around.

Reminds me too much of the oh sweet merciful frag, pterodactyls eagle (I know it's art deco but that was the first thing to come to my mind).
Besides that I love the shirt.

Edit: Err I didn't know woot would censor that. I was referring to a certain WW2 German political party.

It's 6am, I don't have to make sense.

I have to admit, even though I really like this shirt, I was more excited over the woot off.

Congrats on the EC, Travis. You did a great job going outside the box with this (you know, like you do with most of your ideas)

Oh, but congrats. I'll be in for one before it gets reckoned. =o)

And by that I mean I'm not assuming when it will get reckoned, just that I need to save money but will buy if I need to... yeah... Haha

Eskimo Deco was a 20th century art and design movement that sought to apply the principles of Art Deco to the conditions of life in the Arctic

Shouldn't it be called "Arc" Deco then?

Wakka wakka wakka?

It's not about how big it is, it's all about how you make it look. XD

I also heard there was some creative lighting used when he made this piece.

Also, in the igloo's defense, it's COLD out.

Dam*! I was hoping against hope for:

Re: Play musics for my eeears dum dum dum dum dum

I doubt we'll ever see Edgar's brilliant design printed. Definitely our loss.

One thing that struck me - wouldn't this be a tough home improvement project to keep up? I mean, with every stretch of sunlight the design melts and since he's put it up you know his wife will expect him to do it again...

Bad idea, little buddy. Bad idea.

Well, it all comes back to proper lighting of the area in question. Ask any photographer. lol

I've seen that eagle before. It bears an uncanny resemblance to the Reichsadler. I know it isn't exact, and it was probably a coincidence (I swear I'm not making any accusations!), but...wow. The potential implications are both funny and ironic. I saw the movie Valkyrie recently, otherwise I probably wouldn't have made the connection. Anyway, cool shirt. If I hadn't been laid off, I'd probably get one.

This was well discussed in the original entry thread. Eagles of that style are very common in art deco. I believe an example that tgentry used was the US postal service.

tgentry wrote:Deco eagles can be seen everywhere, they were popular in the style. Here are some examples that are much closer to this entry than the third reich eagle, which has more detail:

U.S. Postal Box
Pope County Courthouse
Post Office in Reno
U.S. Postage Stamp
U.S. Courthouse in Oregon

Well done, tgentry! I loved this piece in the Art Deco derby. It's long overdue for a print.

What some guys will do for love, eh? Even in the bitter cold with nothing but a chisel and elbow grease.
