Re: Discovery

Holy scaffolding there is tomb in that man's/woman's chest! At least that is the impression I think wearing this shirt would give.

Nice work with the light and shadow. Great work.

I thought about reworking this design for this contest, but the original was so specific and pretty much exactly as I wanted it, I thought changing it around any would be to much of a struggle. I received a good number of requests asking for this design to make an appearance in this contest in some form or fashion, and I finally decided to see what I could do with it to get it submitted.

The colors and much of the composition are the same from the original design I drew for the Sun derby. I included a falcon and removed the sun, which I was pleased to see didn't really change the overall feel and flow of the original.

Thanks to all you guys who messaged me asking to see this design again, and I hope you like the alterations!

Thanks, xazy!

Draug, I understand your point and I didn't mean to offend by using a Link theme. It just came to me that his ancestors could have been Egytian so I tried to visualize it. Thanks to darthapo for the visualizations. If the rejectionator finds it off theme I am sure he will let me know.

Re: They Had A Little Help

It doesn't matter if this shirt is "good" or not. It's nearly a direct resub and should be rejected because of, once again, a direct, intentional f-you to the derby rules.

And the farthest left pyramid is way off. Why does the top look bent?

Thank you, callaway17. I used the Woot AI template so hopefully it should fit.

Such kind words, kn1srut1. Thank you!

I understand what you are saying. I am in Texas. I love those colors too! (obviously)

icymallard wrote:i like it alot, i think its kinda big on the shirt tho

Thanks, icymallard. When I was conceptualizing (?) the design, I saw it just like this, splashed huge across the front.

SydneyB wrote:It's Big, but it is a simple sort of design, and yet, very elegant.
I LOVE the colors!

Thank you, SydneyB! I do love simplicity (although sometimes you can't tell by my designs.hehe)

zenith1047 wrote:I really like this design, the flow, the space in the design, the color, etc. It would make an excellent gift for my sister. I wish i was a scorpio like her so it would be more appropriate for me to wear it.

Zenith1047, thank you for the kind description. My DH is a Scorpio also and he likes it.

Thanks so much. I was hoping to give it a tone that could mean something different to different people.

Dark, Warm, Mysterious, Loving, Eternal, Hello, Goodbye, etc..

Also, thank you for taking the time to comment.

I am fairly certain he stated that he reworked aspects of it. Just b/c all the changes he made are not 'major' on the surface to you doesn't mean that it wasn't a 'major' effort on his part. I myself am on the fence as to how major the changes are from the original, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Changes that I see, but might be wrong about:

- The clouds look smoother
- Guy with the controller is larger.
- Shirt color (not sure even woot counts that as a change)
- Added a background color, due to the shirt color change I believe.
- Smoothed out the shadows from the pyramids and remote guy.
- Robots coloring looks lightened.
- Shadows/roughness on the pyramids looks lighter.

Those are just what I see, they are multiple minor changes that Woot! may see as a major change overall.

I like it better this way.

Lack of interest in change doesn't change the criticism. I respect that you don't want to change it, but I believe most people will find it oversized. Kudos to you for sticking to your version, but that isn't to say you couldn't resub a small v2 just to see how it would go.
