The viral video, "Kittens Climbing On Annoyed Dog," has reached 10 million views! Now, to talk about how she captured such a warm and hilarious moment, we've got the video's maker, Patricia Henlan. Thanks for being here, Patricia!
So tell us, did you just walk in, see this scene and think, I gotta capture this?
"Oh no. Not at all."
"Certainly not! The whole was highly orchestrated."
"Yes, of course. First off, Rita, the dog: she's appeared in over 36 motion pictures and lent her bark to nearly 15 cartoons."
Oh, I didn't realize.
"And the kittens are also highly trained. Hartley, the one toying with Rita's nose? He can walk on two legs for nearly a mile at a time. And Liza, the one batting at Rita's tail, she can crawl across a piano and play Thelonious Monk. Not to mention Timothy, trying to nurse on Rita, can speak French."
What about the other kittens?
"CGI, every one of them."
Are you serious?
"Deathly serious. All-in-all, the project cost 5.6 million dollars to make. We need just 200,000 more dollars in ad revenue to break even."
Wow. So it's an industry?
"Yes. Most viral videos are produced by production studios like mine. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with Benicio Del Toro to discuss a video of a wedding dance gone wrong. Ciao."
