Re: Promethium : Prometheus. Fire throughout the ages

This design is to illustrate how fire is so essential to our being, that the ancient Greeks made up a mythos all about how man received it. Today, it's still important; even scientists drew from that mythos when they were to name Promethium. Note the gear on the right side of shirt.

you go to the one that reads Radium: the Watch of Ra and click the "i'd want one" button. of course, that'll work for any design you want to vote for also.

:p to you, Mr. Toe.

And to Andy, yes, the I Want One Button is what you're supposed to look for above the design you wish to vote for. That you've never voted and want to vote for mine, makes me happy!

WHOA! This is a take on the element Promethium, which is an element in the sense of the periodic table. The derby description said you can do anything with the element as long as you use only one. This is a take on the element's name, which comes from Prometheus, the god who gave fire to man. This shirt should not have been rejected, and I think GlassEggshells deserves an apology from woot!

And another thing: How come at least three entries this week have been mistakenly rejected for not being elements when they clearly were, but entries that clearly violate the incidental text rule and the no Star Wars ever! rule haven't been rejected? What are you playing at guys? Do you really think that good artists will continue to enter the derbies if there's no rhyme or reason to the rejections?

Thank you ansharp, stated beautifully and made me feel a lot better. You've said it all and I have nothing more to say except, I still haven't gotten an email from woot, which I know others do. I am expecting one.

I have voiced my concerns to Joel. We shall see if we get any answers. Best of luck to you in the future.

I just have to second this. When someone invests the time to enter a piece in the derby, I don't think it's too much to ask that the rejector actually, I dunno, LOOK at a periodic table before rejecting :/

A little consistency in this department would make the derby a more positive place to compete, imo.

I studied this entry for some time and was convinced that it was a misunderstanding of the theme 'element' to mean water, air, fire etc. I'm afraid an apology will be of little comfort at this point, but I offer it nonetheless.

...or you could reinstate it with votes intact like a certain Irony shirt. That would work better than an apology.

well said, blah, well said.

I hope that woot will rectify this and make appropriate (belated) rejections as needed.
