no problem. i used it to combine the shading and texture. it also adds a softness to the design and consolidates colors. thanks for checking it out though! good luck with the flying monkeys! they were my favorite characters from the movie.

thanks! i've always thought octopi to be one of those creatures that are really cool looking but i wouldn't want to run into a giant one.

Really neat design The flashlight and the "Oh no!" bubbles are my favorite parts. Plus it's well-drawn in general... Kudos, GMv

I really like this one, but then again I really like scuba diving. I think it'd be cool to see an octo that big... unless he actually was going to try and eat me. Then not so much.

thanks rglee! my inspiration for this design came from Alien.. the scene where Captain Dallas was searching the ducts, turns around and the alien is right behind him. it evolved from there, but the flashlight was a central element from the beginning.

thanks Michael! i'm not a big fan of scuba diving, but i wouldn't mind seeing an octopus this big as long as there's a thick glass wall between us.

Coming back and giving this another look has changed my opinion on it. Still the left arm looks just a little weird to me, but I really like the swimming backwards with the light in his right arm. Really awesome. Your other artwork is great, man. You have my vote and I'd definitely buy it.

This is fantastic. I love the lighting effects so much. I want it.

thanks a lot! not enough scuba fans maybe? i'm fairly happy with the results though. i've only had a few design make it past the 300 mark, and after completely tanking in the last couple of derbies, this feels like an achievement.
