there's just something so inherently incredible about this design.

I find it disheartening that all of the shirts I truly want never seem to rack up the votes (or if they do, they're juuust out of reach). I hope this one will somehow get to the top and stay there.

It's tragic how few votes this shirt has. It's so brilliant. (Although: shouldn't it be "vive la neapolitan," instead of "viva la neapolitan"? The former is French, and it would be more consistent with the flavors, which are also in French.)

Still love this design. If this doesn't get an EC, I look forward to seeing what kind of clean-up you do before you submit it to Threadless. You said that you wouldn't sub it there as is, which really floors me because I think it's already spectacular.

This is so well designed and very funny. I hate the ice cream actually, (I dunno why either, I like vanilla, I like chocolate, on their own. But in a box with strawberry I just get turned off!!) but this has GMV. (Again! ;P)

This is w/o a doubt the most genius shirt I've seen. I voted for it last time and it's GMV again.

Personally I'm having an issue of nationality with this submission.

The text is mostly French, the imagery I believe evokes the French revolution, but Neapolitan ice-cream is Italian, specifically Naples (Italian: Napoli, Neapolitan: Napule). Now the flag could be Italian but Naples kind of likes its own flag.

vs vs

The flavors could read: cioccolato vaniglia fragola, if that's actually what the flavors are called, I used Google translate.

Part of the problem lies in a few things: main one being we can only use 6 colors. I don't think that, based on the look and palette of the overall piece, the artist could have afforded more colors just to make the flag correct.
Also, if it's supposed to be a joke on the "let them eat cake", it makes more sense to have it exude the French Revolution in both style and text. So it makes sense the text is in French instead of Italian.

And, I'm Italian and I don't find an issue with it. I can see the parody within.

Well, I admit I tend to expect a lot more work from my audience than most people, but come on, dude, it's just a joke. Playing off the misconception that "Neapolitan" is from Napoleon is funny. It wouldn't be nearly as funny if you made it Italian. The three flavors work well as replacements for the French Revolutionary phrase "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." I admit I didn't take as much time to get the conjugation right on 'vivre,' but for a design done from scratch in one day I'm okay with it. I'd like to go back and spend more time polishing it...given the fact it's not going anywhere here I'd say I have plenty of time to do that.

And in my neck of the woods, I think you'd find a disturbing majority of people pronouncing "Neapolitan" and "Napoleon" exactly the same way. Add in the art parody and this is pure gold.

I'm shocked it's not in the fog. Seriously.
