Re: She Broke My Heart...Once...
She ripped my heart out and stomped on it. My broken heart has been fixed but it needs to be protected now.
Please vote for my design! Thanx

Yeah, stealing intellectual property is way more awesome when you're stealing from independent artists.

huh??? That's a bit far-fetched. I've never seen this before...

I have, and it was the first thing I thought of too. Even if it was unintentional I think this design ought to be disqualified, sorry.

Too funny! It's not even close. With this kind of logic, we should also disqualify all designs that come close to the 'idea' of something else. So goodbye mechanical dragons - done before. Goodbye robots, done before. Goodbye steampunk, done before...

Make that a third person who thought of the Wondermark shirt. I saw it earlier this month at comic con, and immediately on seeing this design said "Hey! That looks like the wondermark shirt, except with not as good art..."
Also, as for it's not even close, it totally is. Same idea, same execution, same porthole, same dark brown background, same little patch on the right hand side of both hearts. The only difference is the Wondermark shirt looks nicer. And attacking people about how all ideas are borrowed instead of being embarrassed and saying "Wow, our designs really do look alike! I totally didn't mean to rip that off" just makes me think less and less that this was an accident.

Yeah, sorry. This is exactly the same idea, and almost an identical graphic. The only major difference is that the design here is sealed with a padlock. But seriously, this is the same damn design, intentional or not.
.
I'm sorry if you thought of it all by yourself, but it's been done. To death. I doubt woot could legally even produce these.

Of course it's been done. My theme: a broken heart has been done before - because we're human and that happens. I thought I had a good idea there: my heart being put back into place, fixed, and locked up this time. I figured that was something that other people could identify with. Because they've had broken hearts before too.
It wasn't meant to be some great piece of artwork - since I don't have enough free time for that but it was supposed to represent that feeling.
No, I did not ever see any other piece of artwork like this except for Ironman and that humonculous in Hellboy. But those were just portholes on the chest. If the idea is similar to what others have done, that's to be expected I think - stick a porthole on the chest and what's inside? A heart! Amazing! And with as many people that are out there, I guess someone else would come up with the idea too.
I just wanted to jump into the derby and have some fun. The designing was fun - getting these flames were not. But thanks for the feedback anyways. And thanks to everyone who voted for my locked-up heart!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think most woot people will believe you intentionally tried to copy someone else's design. Just ignore the bashers and try again next week.

Thanks! You rock!

1 semi-basher (implied that it was intentional by calling it something to the effect of a blatant rip-off). A bunch of other people explaining how the shirt.woot mod works and generally disqualifies shirts. Based on past experience of the experiences wooters who posted above, they are simply trying to let you know that it is likely that the mod will reject it as they have seen it a number of times prior for shirt designs being "too close" to designs that already exist.
Yes, try again next week. Accident or not, it is likely that the mod will reject it and/or woot will not print it. Fact.
