Re: Double Trouble
I really like the cats -- but the bird turns me off. If they were staring at a live bird or mouse or maybe a bowl of milk, it would be Purrfect.

Re: Double Trouble
Evil cats. Ew.
Re: Double Trouble
Evil cats, yes. I grew up with Siamese and they can be nasty if crossed! But I agree that the bird is a turn-off. Maybe if they were plotting something...
Re: Double Trouble
In America there is an expression, "Kill two birds with one stone." If you know common sayings such as this, the birds make much more sense. In fact, many shirts on this site make references to commonly used expressions. Please educate yourself.

Excuuuuuuse me?!? I live in America, I'm a native speaker of English, and I know the phrase perfectly well. That doesn't make this shirt design NOT CREEPY in any way.

Hey, Kathnich, thanks for the comments! I'll consider your suggestion for an alternate version, but for myself in making this I did like the juxtaposition of Siamese "twin" cats and two birds...I suppose I was going for a double pun (and the twos multiply as I speak...). And I apologize if this turned you off (and apparently a few others), but honestly, I think there have been far worse (and more graphic) on Shirt Woot than two birds under a rock.
So, is there a more tasteful way of depicting two birds under a stone or is the pun just resented in general?

I could have completely lost my marbles, but I think that the people who were commenting were wanting to see the "before" scene of the siamese cats plotting the demise of the birds, rather than the "after" scene where the birds are dead and the cats have finished their deed. I guess it's the intrigue of an even that hasn't yet occurred that people might have been wanting to see.
Anyways, like I said I could be wrong. :d
I love this shirt, but after reading the comments and overthinking the image it annoys me because cats don't throw stones (hence those saying the plotting would've been better) and it'd be better executed some other way.
Honestly though, I was totally on board until I started overthinking it.

I think it's the mixture. The cats make me think of the ones who sing the "we are siamese if you please" song in lady and the tramp, which is cool - and goes with my general experience of Siamese cats. And I could see "two birds with one stone" working for this derby in some other form. But yeah, cats don't use stones. Maybe just a few feathers floating around after the birds got eaten...? Though I still think an evil plot in the hatching would be great!
Re: Double Trouble
Lol, "cats don't use stones"? What a discussion... That cracks me up. I guess from unicorns to smiling hearts with feet I didn't realize that Shirt Wooters wanted things to be so logical. I appreciate the feedback, but it is pretty funny. :P
I've been thinking this concept over in my head and depending on what I have time for I may start another illustration...we'll see what comes of it. ![]()

I'm sorry, but if you think seeing two tails and some feet out from under a rock is 'gross' or 'creepy' or 'without taste' or whatever then I think people are far less well adjusted then I had hoped.
Edit: Just to clarify, I was just responding to other people, and agreeing with you.
I'm counting 7 colors here: white, cream, light brown, blue, gray, black, and pink.

Wow, jmmbell, I must say I'm embarrassed! I don't know how I missed that...and to find out just as my design appears in the New Hotness. (sigh)
I've fixed the issue and resubmitted. Hopefully I can regain my votes.
